A week ago I went to Lakeridge Oshawa Emerg. It was extremely busy with many folks experiencing long wait times, but don't forget they triage and the most urgent are seen first. The treatment I received from start to finish was caring and In a professional manner. I spent 2 1/2 days and 2 nights in Area 7 of emergency. I can't say enough about the two teams who cared for me. Hats off to nurse Marcia and her team and nurse Leah and her team. I saw all patients, regardless of their situation, being treated with the utmost Care and compassion. It's a stress filled environment but these nurses coped wonderfully. Understand if they slow down for a few minutes to catch their breath. Our nurses are not paid a fraction of their worth. Appreciate them and the work they do.
September 19: 7pm night shift This hospital ER nurses/clerks zone 5 and zone 6 along with majority of the staff at the emergency needs to be let go…the way they speak with patients/visitors and the lack of empathy & unprofessionalism is at another level at this hospital. Overpaid nurses and staffs attitude is beyond unacceptable…just observing them treat people was pathetic and disgraceful. Doctors/nurses/clerks lack basic normal human characteristics and quickly justify their bad attitude, lack of care/empathy on how they are busy and this is apparently the norm at this hospital ER department. Charge nurse was miserable and angry was spiteful towards multiple patients when rudely speaking to them, threatening female patients that she would put on their file that they are aggressive and violent. While they were questioning the lack of service they were receiving while waiting in wheelchairs….must of been very threatening sitting in wheelchairs. You can tell how negative and evil some of these power hungry staff are …just instigating bad behaviour and conflict themselves. Majority of the seniors were just sitting and listening to these idiot doctors and nurses go off at them. I mean seriously if you hate your jobs so much …life is so bad that you are no longer a decent person…just Quit and give some new normal people a chance. These guys go around knowing there’s no accountability for their actions and behaviour. One of the doctors told another visitor that “This is the new Canada” and another nurse told another family that “I wouldn’t bring my family here either”…This hospitals staff needs to be fired from the top to the bottom, like seriously Whois the genius hiring these type of people?? It’s not the money or more staff needed, rather quality over quantity. Ford and Trudeaus proud healthcare, needs to dismantle and start over again.
Today's visit was amazing to Emergency. The staff were so kind and caring. Started with the Nurse in Triage. Did not get her name but she was so nice. Then the waiting room nurse, who was so very busy, remained pleasant and kind through it all. To nurse Victoria in Emergency and Dr. Jenkins, thank you so much for listening and acting on Donna's concerns and treating her with respect. This has been a long road. Thank you all again.
Some nurses are very rude and impolite. Don’t be shocked if you are insulted and treated like animals. I think they know the country suffers from the lack of doctors and nurses, so they treat you like an animal like you’re nobody with no hesitation because they know nobody is going to fire them because of the shortage. Some other nurses are good though, but the good nurses can’t relieve the pain the rude nurses cause. I’m talking about you Zone 5’s white blonde nurse on Friday Sep 1st at 7 PM.
I went to emerge and waited 7 hours to see the doctor. She didn't even check the blood work that I have done there. Her name is Katey Jakins. I asked her to check my lab results but she asked me which one do you want me to check. Sometimes you wonder if they care enough to do thier due diligence. I ended up going to other places to take care of the issue but hopefully occasions like this doesn't cause life loss
A few months late on this review but woowwww… I had a c section in January and I cannot say enough good things about the nursing staff and doctors that took care of me and lil baby. The anesthesiologist was so funny, my surgeon and OB was probably the best doctor I’ve had. Every. Single. Nurse. Took the time to help me even though they were very busy. They helped latch my baby and get formula when needed. I could go on forever about my experience… only point off is hospital food didn’t pay attention to my dietary restrictions. By far so grateful for my nursing staff, doctors, and everyone else who truly made my experience here special and memorable. Shout out to the nurse who sat with me while I cried at 4am and talked me up. Shout out to the nurse who helped me use the bathroom and chill with me waiting to pee without catheter.. love you guys
Went to ER on Wednesday morning. It was busy. Very efficient and fast crew. I was taken care of and saw a doctor in half an hour. And that’s including triage steps. Very kind and caring staff. Can’t thank them enough.
I had the best ultrasound technician today, her approach made me comfortable and her ability to calm me enough to feel joy instead of worry during my ultrasound was unmatched. I’m a very hard mama to calm down and worry is my middle name. She provided me with so much useful information, well staying at a professional level, yet being real and having an honest conversation. Also some amazing ultrasound skills. So Donna, where ever you are know that what you do made my day a little more special.
The triage and medical nurses were very pleasant even though there was larger emergency that came in, but RPN Jennifer and Dr Nwoko were top notch. They were both kind, fast and had a very pleasant demeanour! Thank you all for the help and care!
I was admitted into their youth mental health department after 3 or more days of eating from a styrofoam tray in a psych ward. Whilst in the psych ward they stopped by rarely to drop off crayons and worksheets about mental health. During these days I was confined in this space with no one to speak to regarding my mental health to better myself, and to make matters worse, the mental health worksheets barely benefited me. They later brought me up to the youth mental health department and I was given the same stack of worksheets to complete, and I could not leave my room to socialize with others like myself until I completed them. They would also laugh when I clearly demonstrated I was infuriated, and they found it genuinely amusing to see me in that state. Please if you love your children, do not bring them to this hospital.
