Lakeshore Winery

Description

Lakeshore Winery is owned and operated by John and Annie Bachman, who purchased the property in June of 1994 from the winery's founders, Bill and Doris Brown. John and Annie are committed to continuing the traditions established by the Browns. Essentially those traditions mean making a variety of wines of the highest quality; providing a fun, relaxed and educational tasting room experience; and having a good time doing it.

The winery is located on a farm that dates back to 1825. It's an ideal site for growing grapes. Proximity to the deep waters of Cayuga Lake provides enough tempering effect to enable the European (Vitis vinifera) grapes to thrive. The original barn provides a unique setting for receiving visitors, with a spectacular view of the lake. There is even a dock for boaters to visit the winery.

"Small family-owned winery on the western shore of Cayuga Lake. Cozy, intimate tasting room. Lots of outdoor space with picnic tables, lawn games and a boat dock."

Loved this place! Great wines, brownies with the tasting for sweet wine, wine slushes, games on the premise like tetherball and corn hole. This was a really fun place. It has a dock to boat there as well.
Small, intimate and cozy winery, with a huge beautiful space outside. Gentle staff and very knowledgeable about the wine options. You get a brownie treat during the taste, which was delicious. Good opportunity to enjoy a ride to the lake.
This place is great. It has games for the kids and wine for the adults. We were able to easily get some games of bocci ball in while we were waiting for others in our group to do tastings. I was able to keep the kids entertained while we waited. It was great to have the open space.
A wonderful, homey, cozy winery. Not included in the Cayuga Wine Trail Map, but it certainly should be. Staff memebrr Jeanie gave a wonderful presentation with an extensive knowledge of the wines being served. I will certainly be back to buy another bottle soon!
We loved our tasting at Lakeshore Winery! Annie was so knowledgeable and we loved how she structured her tasting. The views were beautiful and it was so relaxing. We can’t wait to come back!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait
Lovely wines with a great view! They have tons of lawn games and lawn furniture! Bring your kids! Bring your dogs! Enjoy the wine and view of the lake.
Lakeshore made a special accommodation for our large group and was by and large the favorite stop of the day. Lakeshore Winery is gorgeous and charming, their wines are excellent but it is their approach to the tasting that made the experience another level. It doesn’t hurt that this beautifully restored barn fire in the large stone fireplace next to a picturesque window/view of the lake made for the perfect setting. Lorraine was our guide and her love and sincerity was on full display. The owners even made themselves accessible to us even though they weren’t there that weekend. This winery is clearly loved and that love translates. Thank you Lakeshore from all of us in group.
Nice variety of wines from sweet to dry. Unique rustic tasting room. Love the fireplace. Not for snooty wine tasters though
I have been to several wineries in the area, this by far the best experience and nice view. I like that it was small and less crowded compared to other places. The wine tasting was great and very affordable. The service was great and everyone was welcoming.
Wine tasting conducted by an extremely knowledgeable, and friendly woman. We actually tasted wine after sampling an extremely delicious brownie in order to experience the wine in a different way. Wines were delicious! I'm partial to pinot noir, so I bought a couple of bottles to bring home!
