Lakeside Cemetery.
Lakeside Cemetery was established in 1877 for the purpose of consolidating all public burial grounds into a single location. A section of the cemetery, located west of Gratiot Avenue between Krafft Road and the canal, has been designated as Veterans' Memorial Cemetery and is for honorably discharged veterans residing in St. Clair County.
The Cemetery Division is responsible for all burials within Lakeside Cemetery and for the maintenance of the cemetery grounds and fixtures. For questions about a grave purchase, burials, cemetery rules, and acceptable grave decorations, etc., contact either the Cemetery Office at 810-987-6000 or the City Clerk's Office at 810-984-9725.
