Says open til six but they don't let anyone in past 4:30. Got there at 4:40 and they put the sign up that they are closed even though people were swimming.
What a fun place to take the kids! Clean and great size for my little swimmers. Wish we could get a year round family pass but the punch cards work out great too.
They close ppl every time I went last summer. Just moved here 1 1/2 year ago it was first time with son and they closed because of weather. It rains in fl every day is fl.i think they didn't want to work. They didn't refund money. It's sad. They make money. Gotta have a better system. 3 visits and it was poor. Also family hours in eve for working parents would help. Also I like to walk trails for health.
This place is never open. We have summer for 6 months a year and good swimming weather an additional 3 months. Our property taxes in st Lucie county continue to go up but the county doesnt put money into all the places it taxes- like Lakewood park. This place is open 2 months out of the year. The rest of the time its allowed to get Green and nasty. The people of Lakewood park want this place open 3/4 of the year. Great for small children. An entire area just for small children. Only enough room for a couple swim lanes and often unavailable for those lanes. Overall size is small. Often crowded when open. It was less than 5$ person last time I took my son. Ample free parking.
A modest pool and splash area. The pool is no deeper than about 4 feet and is just a bit larger than a backyard pool. It also has a beach like entrance and a basketball hoop to enjoy while you swim. The splash area has a mushroom waterfall and geysers shooting up from the ground. It's not a very interactive play area but it can still provide an adequate amount of fun for young children. This was our go to pool for summer camp every Friday. The kids had a great time and only wished they had more time in the pool. Note: group swim is 11am-1pm and has to be scheduled in order to use the facilities. If there is more than one group your time will be limited to 1 hour. Groups are not permitted during regular swim time. There in no snacks or drinks on site so i advise you bring your own.
Very safe place for kids to enjoy themselves! All the lifeguards are very friendly....
Don’t waste your time or money. Holds Very low capacity. Hours are horrible. Pool closes without notice. We’ve been turned away twice and had to leave early once.
great swim center that is open about 50 hours a year. what a waist to be closed 95% of the year. very poor job again by FP recreation dept.
Prices are extremely cheap as the pool is basically subsidized by tax dollars. It has a few lanes for swimming for exercise but their hours are prohibitive and often the lifeguards will not permit fins or paddles. Also due to their hours there are usually people and kids in the lanes that at just hanging out or playing. All said, it is a great place to go to cool off or let your kids play. They have a few giant canopies, the pool is zero entry on the one side and they have a separate splash pad area for kids, though the ground in the splash pad is concrete and my own kids have scraped their knees several times.
Great facilities but never opened. I am not sure why you would build a pool that is never open. It seems lots of the parks in St Lucie do not have the manpower to run so they are closed. This is a poor use of our taxes. Not only can hardly anyone who works a 9-5 use this facility it is also never open. Many of our parks need to be reevaluated and modernized so they are actually used. The regular park closes too early and you get chased out right after you get out of work. Something needs to change.
