My first time trying Ethiopian food. My cousin is a vegetarian so this was a wonderful meal but since I mainly tried the veggie utopia, I wished I ordered a more meatier option. The veggie utopia was aesthetically pleasing and also quite tasty especially their lentils and carrot potatoes. The street gets busy and parking can be quite hard to find.
First time dining in at an Ethiopian restaurant and it did not disappoint. Prior to this, my coworkers were from Ethiopia and brought me take out from a place in Seattle. Dining in with friends, this communal experience was fantastic. We got some coffee, and being an American, added some sugar, but the flavor, aroma, and Expresso like taste at first was very good coffee. Our server was extremely helpful in making sure we ordered a fine meal, avoiding duplicates as our party navigated the menu. Suggestions were also made, which were appropriate for our picky eaters. I enjoyed the lamb and vegetarian dishes, the spices and flavors very well done. If you've never had Ethiopian food, I would definitely steer you here, and if you're looking for a real community experience, this is that space. I am looking forward to when I return.
We had the plate of Kitfo, Tibs Fir-fir, and Derek Tibs with Kinche soft cracked-wheat layered on top. Delicious Ethiopian lunch.
There is no better Ethiopian food in California or that I’ve had in the United States. Nothing has changed even with a Michelin star. It’s finally been recognized for the small family business with a mother and her daughters creating incredible food. Get ready for a family experience and your food being created by a family’s love for feeding those that come to their table.
The absolute best Ethiopian food we've ever eaten! Veggie options our of this world delicious. The cook takes time to season thoroughly, and the coffee is just perfect!Food: 5/5
Been several times. Get the specials every time. It's amazing food. Only thing is the chicken drumsticks in sauce are impossible to eat with the bread. But it's super delicious and I can't recommend it more.
Really delicious. Place is very clean as well. :D We came on Sat for lunch and there was only one server and so you may need to wait longer if there are many people inside
My new favorite place in Little Ethiopia! The vegan sampler is excellent; simply has more flavor than the other spots and I've tried most of them. Plus you can get tofu tibs! Literally have never seen this on a menu outside of this spot, and it's delicious. *they have impossible meat now and use it to make kitfo!!*
Lalibela is my favorite place to get Ethiopian food. It’s fresh, the flavors and spice levels are on point, and the atmosphere is very cozy and intimate. I’ve been here a dozen or more times and it never gets old. They have something for everyone, meat eaters and veggies/vegans. Whether you eat meat or not, you should definitely try the veggie utopia platter. It’s great for two people, and allows you to sample an array of options they have. The lamb and beef tibs are also very delicious. Perfect spot for a date, or with a group of friends!
Small place. Made a reservation just in case but don't really need one cause they don't really care. They just put a sign on table that says reserved but that's only if there's more than a number of tables that's already being taken basically can sit anywhere you wish if there are other tables available except for the "reserved" table. One of the major downsides of this place was the fruit flies flying around!! Staff was good - they missed an order but that happens. Food wise, I give this place a 5 if it weren't for those flies. Injera was good. We got a beef and a veggie deluxe combo for 3 ppl for a really decent price. The beef were amazing. Totally would go back again.
