The Mission of the Police Department of the City of Lamesa is to provide a safe and secure environment for the community, to protect the property of the City of Lamesa, the personal property of the community, and the safety of its community member with professionalism, competence and courtesy. The Police Department is charged with the enforcement of the laws of the State of Texas and the Code of Ordinances of the City of Lamesa, Texas. Emphasis on law enforcement stresses Crime Prevention as a responsibility of all member of the Community. The Police Department will work closely with other Law Enforcement Agencies, and with the Citizens of Lamesa to develop a strong working relationship that will foster a strong Police and Community involvement in Crime Prevention.
