Lancaster Kiest Library!!!

A good size library. Clean and quiet. Less than 10 people there on a Tuesday afternoon. Good selection of Black / African-American literature, both nonfiction and fiction.

This place is gorgeous! White stone exterior looks like several conjoined cubes with sloped roofs. It’s a lot better than it sounds. The entrance is shielded by low-hanging trees, which makes entering the building that more dramatic. Very high sloped ceiling with lots of glass and while color and light greet you. It just gets better as you enter the main room and walk around. Fortunately this library is not just looks. It has a huge collection of books and electronic media. The Afro-American section is the biggest I’ve seen in the Dallas libraries. The Children’s section is almost a little library in itself. The only negative I’ve seen is the lack of chairs and desks relative to the size of the library. Other than that small quibble this is really a great library, truly as asset to not only the neighborhood, but the city of Dallas itself. Check it out!

It's been over 5yrs since I last visited this library, very quiet and clean. I love the new library, I worked at the original library that was on Lancaster rd. With Doris Bennett and Edward Greer, very wonderful people I enjoyed as coworkers

Currently open but you can only do curbside pick up for materials. The library staff has a sign out front with a number to call. The staff was very helpful with updating my account and allowed me to text a picture of my ID to renew my library card. I am also able to check out materials online.

Very beautiful on the inside. A wonderful place to sit and read and a nice area for children to do homework. Truly a beacon of the area.

Came up here at 10:45 on a Saturday and they were not open and clearly the hours say they’re open at 10:00. There was an employee there but doors were locked. So very inconvenient and a waste of time. Need to update times or have better employees.This is the second time this happened, do not recommend this library!

I love the fact that this library has a lot of books about African-Americans. I come to this library more than the other locations because the staff is friendly and willing to help you look for whatever book or DVD that you're looking for.

Early voting took less than 10 minutes. People were very friendly and helpful.
