Landmark's Crest Cinema Center

About

The Official Facebook Page of Landmark Theatres' Crest Cinema Center.

Description

4 Screens. Built in 1949. Operated by Landmark since 1989. Featuring Hollywood favorites, independent film and foreign language cinema in a neighborhood setting, the Crest Cinema Center features an eclectic mix of programming at a discount price. Most films that play here are on their last stop before leaving Seattle area screens for good, so don't snooze.

Originally built in 1949, the Crest has been operating as a neighborhood theatre ever since. Equipped with widescreen capabilities in 1979, it was one of the first theatres in the country to run Close Encounters of the Third Kind in 70mm. Expanded to four auditoriums in 1980, two houses were configured with stadium-style seats and high-backed chairs, and two larger houses were constructed to feature conventional seating and large screens. So successful were "bargain nights" at the Crest that by the late 1980s, it began running discount programming on a permanent basis.

Free parking is available in lot adjacent to theatre.

Talk about Wow. I didn't think this Crest theater was open here anymore. Went with my Sister's family and my Husband and I. Our old stomping grounds and movie hangout. It looks like newer seating then way back when. And spacious isles and seating. Still has that old smell but not as bad. Concessions- 1 Large Popcorn and Large Soda $17.10 with unlimited refills. Smelled like fresh delicious popcorn as we walked through the door. $7.00 per person for ticket. Much cheaper then my usual theater I go to now. The cashier and help all were very friendly and quick to get people taken care of. We went and seen Jurassic Park Dominion. Great Movie to go see. Kid friendly place with booster seats for the littles. They have a small parking lot on either side of theater, but don't fret they have ample street parking. I live a ways away, but if in the area I would definitely come again.
My favorite theater so far!!! I loooooooved their popcorn and cheese dip. Tasted way better than the ones at cinemark! 5 stars for me
If you like highly reasonable ticket and concessions prices, good food and drinks, decently comfy seating, and solid sound/projection quality wrapped in a nostalgic mid-century cinema atmosphere, The Crest may be for you! This theater is the antidote to the scourge of AMC/Regal multiplexes that charge $16 a ticket and make you watch a half hour of ads between the posted showtime and the actual start of the movie. Support charming, reasonably priced, ever so slightly musty old theaters like The Crest. There are vanishingly few like it left.
I thought the seats were just fine but I was with some people with longer legs and they thought it was a little tight. I'm not sure if some of the theater rooms have better seats or not but honestly I think it's totally worth the prices! Oh and the popcorn and butter are way better here than other places
Best cinema experience around, PERIOD! If you're like me and love cheap tickets, lots of popcorn, and ultra funky retro 70s decor & design you will LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!!! So glad that beyond the great modern sound system, bright and colorful theatre screens, and seats little else has changed since the place was built. Granted, the bathrooms haven't aged very well what on Earth is that men's bathroom...?, but you win some you lose some. 2 tickets, popcorn, and ice creams cost $35, which for theatres nowadays is on the cheaper end. This is the first of what will be MANY trips to this funky retro theatre!
Great prices, with a great screens and sound. I got two tickets, large popcorn, large drink, the wife got a big bag of candy and nachos all for $41. I would recommend you see what movies are playing here before going anywhere else.
Amazing theater. One of my go tos, cheap tickets and snacks. Even serves beer. Really holds onto that classic feeling of going out to see the movies. If your movie is playing at this location you gotta come here to see it
Great place to watch movies with your kids. I love that you can watch for just $4 per person. For parents with small kids who are just starting to appreciate keeping still to see a film from start to finish, or even older ones who don't care about flashy or posh theater environment just as long as there's popcorn, candy and drinks, Crest is THE theater to go to. Parking is limited. The theater maybe old but it's not grimy or musty. The staff are young, fast and friendly. They serve theater food, my toddler loved the popcorn and that it came in a dino print box kids combo. I'm so glad to have this institution around and hope they will keep operating as long as possible. Watch your movies here, highly recommended.
Good seating, comfortable. Inexpensive tickets. Senior pricing on Tuesdays. Women's restroom needs some upgrades. I will go there again!
These are what my grandma used to call "Cheapie Theatres" and affordable they still are. I can't remember ever paying $4 a ticket, and that's exactly what they charge here! The vibe is really different from your big chain theatres in the best way possible. Kitsch to the max. I loved it! The screens are a little smaller, but the seating is still great. No matter how tall the folks in front of you are there's no issues seeing -i know bc the people in front of my 10 yr old and I were well over 6 ft. Another great thing about this place is they have older movies. Not super old, but if you missed it in the bigger cinemas this place is probably still showing it. We saw a movie that came out at Xmas in late March. They offer concessions and the candy is still overpriced - wouldn't be the movies if it weren't! But we bring our own, and popcorn & drinks are totally reasonable and also refillable at any time for free. They have per pound candy dispensers filled with boutique candies, and they also have a seasoning bar for your popcorn with all sorts of powdered flavors. Kettle corn, caramel, cheddar, ranch, etc. The men's restroom is on the main floor and marked, and the ladies' room is upstairs and unmarked, both LGBTQ friendly. They do have a small parking lot but it was full and I gather most people park on side streets in the surrounding neighborhood like we did. All free! Just be careful not to block corners or driveways. I'll definitely return.
