Lanham Gene

This is a great place to stop for lunch and get something delicious and nutritious. They have lunch specials that rotate weekly as well. I’ve had almost everything on the lunch menu, and I would recommend trying it all. My favorites have been the brisket grilled cheese, the smoked salmon tacos, and the Turkey bacon club. I always grab a bag of Siete chips while I’m in here because they are the best. Their juices are fantastic as well. Great customer service!

Decent selection considering it's size. Havent eaten there yet. The price of the items is way too expensive. Same things at Meyers 1/2 cheaper.

Highly disappointed. I really feel like they’re fleecing their customers anymore. I walked in a while back to buy a Solaray vitamin that I’ve bought from them for years. It used to be just under 14 dollars. Fast forward a couple months later, I walked in and they’re charging almost 18 dollars for the same product. I got curious and looked online. I found the exact same product being sold by a handful of sellers on Ebay for under 13 dollars with free shipping and handling. Now you tell me…. I’ve known for quite a while that Gene’s overprices their products, but now I feel like they’re exploiting the downturn economy as an excuse to price gouge their customer base even more. That’s okay, I’m done with them. I’ll buy all of my supplements online for now on. Honestly, I should’ve done it years ago, but I tried my best to turn the other cheek for the local cause. Those days are over. So long, Gene’s.

Gene's is absolutely fantastic! The staff are always so friendly and welcoming each and every time we have gone in there. They have something new each time it seems and have plenty of options for every need you may have. We love going in and just browsing around. You'll find something you didn't see before. We love the local products and the "Prepared by Gene's" things as well. We haven't tried any of the food from there fixed fresh in the back yet but that's on the to do list for sure! I can't say enough good things about them so please be sure to check out Gene's when you have the time to!

I eat lunch here multiple times a week. Great food and super nice staff. The fish tacos are my fave!

The selection is good but the prices are absolutely insane. I can get most of this stuff for a fraction of the cost at other places.

They do not accept EBT/SNAP. As the only health-food organic local grocery in town, Gene's is doing a huge disservice to the Owensboro community. This can be easily fixed. Not accepting EBT/SNAP is absurd. Poor people deserve access to healthy foods too.

My wife and I are big fans of Gene's. The food is always fresh, healthy, and tasty. We eat lunch there pretty regularly. The store has a good selection of high quality organic and healthy grocery options, as well as local goods such as honey.

Gene’s isn’t only just my favorite lunch spot but supplement store. There are so many organic & clean options & the workers there are so helpful! So happy to have them.

Ran by incredibly informative and caring people, this store offers herbal and alternative medicines to the Owensboro area. They are filled with pamphlets and literature as well as a counter top compendium of all the available items they stock. An incredibly professional and clean business! Recently, they acquired and began utilizing a new food truck, as per local Owensboro ordinance allowing their use since 2012. The food truck is one of very few that operate in the area and is an incredibly innovative and fun concept.
