We are an independent brand of clothing inspired by the city of Lansing, MI.
Jeremy Helton wears his love for Lansing on his chest or better yet on a T-shirt, hoodie or jacket, he wants others from the capitol city to do the same. "I wanted to create something here that represented us as a city and give us all something to show off our hometown pride."
In the fall of 2015, Helton set in motion a clothing line designed to band together T-shirt admirers behind a common cause. Inspired by the city-themed clothing and promotional items he saw in his hometown of Detroit, Helton decided to create wearable options in his adopted hometown and started the Lansing Clothing Company.
T-shirts and other items through Lansing Clothing Company play on pop culture, as well as iconic images and events exclusive to the city. The most recent set of designs include manufacturing, state government and historic influences, as well as sports and singular trends. Men and women can choose from a variety of tees and hoodies in several colors and styles. Helton is always working on new designs and is continuously updating his catalog monthly.
With a background in multimedia and design, Helton was able to create and market his own ideas from home through his one-man shop. After purchasing a one color screen press, the first Lansing Clothing Co. t-shirt was made. Using social media while selling t-shirts at local festivals, the word began to spread. It wasn’t long until the demand picked up and Helton had to start outsourcing to a local screen printing company. By the end of the summer of 2016, Lansing Clothing Co. opened it’s first brick and mortar location in REO Town, Lansing.
