Breathtaking views of the Foothills in Yuma, Az from every location of this gorgeous golf course. A challenging course that is fun to play. We were very impressed with the well-manicured greens. To top it off, the price is hard to believe...$35 for 18 holes with a cart! The views alone are worth the 35 bucks! Go! You won't regret it.
The last time I played here I told myself I would never come back. 2 years later a friend has heard that is has really improved so reluctantly we gave it another try. Never again. I like the unique layout of the course but the golf course is just raw. No good rolls even in the middle of the fairway, if you can identify the fairway. Fringes around the green are terrible, course is wet all over and greens are unpredictable and in poor shape. For my money there are many other courses in the area that are superior to this course.
Worst course I've played. Black and white tee boxes are way over grown. Fairways are in bad shape as well as the greens. Definitely not worth $50
The best course in Yuma. We all know the difficulty in maintaining a course in the desert southwest. Las Barrancas has done the best job of all the courses in the area of mastering this difficulty. Hats off to their grounds crew for providing a beautiful and well-maintained course.
Golfed on the 11-2 special today for $50.00. This is not a $50. Never mind a $65. Course by any means. Fairways are at least 30% hard pan dirt/rock, the aprons around the greens look like the have be ripped up and have absolutely no roll what so ever. Greens are extremely slow. When your course is in this kind of shape the price point needs to be lowered accordingly. What it has going for it is the view of the mountains. Very nice. With some work this could become a $50.00 course but not by any means is it a $65. As advertised. Try the city course folks, you can sometimes get s Screamin deal there.
This review is for the par 3 course. I will start with the good. The greens were in good shape as was the overall course. This was the first time we played this course. The website indicates tee times up to 4:00 pm. We started somewhere around 3:45 pm. The are no numbers on the tee boxes. First time I've ever been on a course with no numbers on the holes. We missed holes 2 and 3 because of this. We went back to play these holes around 4:40 pm. The office manager came out to tell us there is no way we could have missed the holes because we were given a map. I said it would be nice to have numbers on the holes. I also said we have only been out here one hour. She said they need to close by 5:00. I told her how do you book tee times up to 4:00 and close the course at 5:00. She told us if you don't like it don't come back. I would come back for the course but not for the attitude we were given. With the customer service we were shown, I understand why there was no one else on the course.
Too bad it is in such bad shape, the layout is fun. Greens in fair/good shape, fairways poor/non existent. Was built in 2005, hurry and play there won't be any grass by 2025, must be a money thing, too bad.
Nice staff, decent layout but the conditions are so bad that the course is essentially unplayable. The fairways have big bare patches, large areas of mud. Often your shots land on rocks and bounce crazily. The greens are completely inconsistent with shaggy portions and bare portions. When we played we just had a two putt maximum rule. Also, raw sewage smell. You might be happy enough if you paid $25, but we paid $59. Not recommended.
Great staff. Fun Layout, especially on the back 9. Unfortunately, course is in very rough shape. Most greens are super shaggy and very slow, other greens are patchy and significantly faster. $59.00 is a very inappropriate price in my opinion. I understand fairways/greens are hard to keep healthy in this heat, it's all the other areas of the course that are covered with overgrown weeds, or full of mud, or the teeboxes that are long enough to be rough or the grass bunkers that are completely unkempt that compelled me to give a low rating. Also, there is no drinking water on the course, bring your own. The clubhouse has hydration options and adult beverages but I'm unsure if there is normally a beverage cart or not.
Love this golf course. It offers a challenging and interesting course layout not found anywhere else in Yuma. Greens were very nice and well maintained. Grass in fairways have dead spots because many sprinkler heads are situated too low beneath surface to get adequate spray pattern. reason for 4 stars instead if 5.
