I have used Dr. Barclay for several years and he is a one of a kind doctor!!! He will sit down and discuss all of my problems and always gives me what he thinks best and I do everything he tells me.Once again a very nice and devoted pain doctor!!!
The best and caring doctors and nursing professionals!!! The man knows me by name at his business and in the street. The man loves to help people and treats them like a person not a number! Thanks so much Mr. Vivek Barclay this world needs more people like you!!!!
Dr Vivek Barkley is absolutely the best pain management doctor I have ever had. I've been in pain management for almost 20 years now, and going to Laurel Pain Clinic for the last 5 of those 20 years. I travel 150 miles round trip I live 25 miles south of Jackson, MS to see Dr Barkley and it's worth every mile.
I've been a patient of Dr. Vivek Barcley for over 3 1/2 years. I've also seen Nurse Practitioner, Randall. Dr. Barcley has done injections to my neck and back many times, provided pain relief and referrals when pain could not be controlled. His bedside manner and aptitude for quality care is excellent. The care I receive is far better than most. Yes, prepare for extremely long wait, at times. The wait is worth the care you receive.
I intended to give only one star but added another because they refunded me without much hassle. Short version: The waiting room is crowded and smells like dirty clothes. Some of the staff show frustration and a lack of concern. I waited nearly two hours before walking out. Full version: The first thing I noticed when entering the building was the smell, which reminded me of dirty clothes. The hard, plastic seats were crammed together to seat as many people as possible, and none of the receptionists seemed to notice me standing at the window for what felt like a full minute. I had arrived fifteen minutes early for my 12:30 appointment, finished my paperwork and began what would become a long wait. Around 1:00, I asked to use the restroom, but the receptionist refused because of a drug screen. I waited another fifteen minutes and was again told to wait because I was next in line. During this time, one of the nurses called patients to the back. When she learned that one of them had stepped outside, she showed frustration on her face and let out a sigh. At first, I thought it was unprofessional but understandable, but by the end of my visit, I was more on the side of the patient. I was finally called back at 1:20 fifty minutes late, and the nurse offered no apology or explanation. Instead, she hurtled through a series of questions and tests, and my annoyance became anger when she thrust the thermometer into my ear with no apparent regard for my personal space. Once finished, I was finally allowed to use the restroom. Afterward, I was instructed to sit in one of the chairs lined against a wall, and when I saw the other patients, I couldn't help but think of that scene from The Wire in which the drug dealers bark at their customers to line up so they could be quickly processed. I waited there until 2:00 and began to wonder if I should just leave. I had already decided I wouldn't be back, so there was no point waiting another hour, but I also didn't want to leave if I was next. I approached the receptionist to ask, but while I was in mid-sentence, she walked away to answer the phone. At that point, I was finished. I approached another receptionist and told her I wanted to end my appointment and be refunded. However, I had already taken the drug screen, so I would be charged $65 or I could wait for the manager to come and waive the fees. I was told she was speaking with the doctor, so I stood at the counter for twenty minutes, and when she finally returned, it was from the Break Room! I should also note that while waiting, I overheard the first receptionist tell someone on the phone that he must arrive within fifteen minutes of his appointment, and I couldn't help but laugh out loud. The manager was kind and apologetic and waived the fees without any hassle. She also told me this kind of wait is typical for new patients, and I left nearly two hours late without seeing the doctor.
It is a very good place to goto for a pain clinic. The dr's are amazing and take time to listen to you and works out a plan that best suits you. I couldn't ask for any better 2 drs to goto for chronic pain. Only downfall is u might have to wait a couple of hours but it is worth the wait.
Expect a long wait, once your vitals are taken you know you have another hour and a half until you are called back to see the doctor. then you only have 30-45mins to wait for the doctor. 5-10mins with doc, then 30 mins waiting on your script to be written, then you can go.. Total Time 4-8 hours of waiting.
Dr is nice enough but he is ALWAYS BEHIND and he double books procedures and appts. I've never waited less than 2 hrs here and have been here up to 4hrs. And some of the staff are quite rude.
Has been a very pleasant experience seeing Dr Barclay and Dr Magee. All in all I give them a thumbs up.
I’m currently on United health does anyone know if they take regular Medicaid or not???? I don’t wanna switch and they don’t take it.
