Went to the Novel bookstore to find two books for young Black boys. One is 4 and the other is 14. Staff was very very helpful and quickly helped me find appropriate to age books focused on Black youth. I would have hugged them if it was appropriate! LOL
Laurelwood was originally built in the 1960s and I think only one tenant from that era still remains. It's a mix of dining, retail, service establishments, and one of the few remaining local bookstores. About the only place I go there is Panera Bread, alas most of my pictures are inside the store nothing of the entire shopping center. Also, when the old Sears building was demolished several years ago, a new development of about 20 stores was constructed which is technically separate from Laurelwood and called Poplar Commons.
Has always been one of the best shopping centers in the Memphis area. They have gone through several renovations and it's paying off. People come from all over the city to shop and dine here.
It has multiples of my favorite stores tj max Ross micheals 5 below n it's close to home Depot Kroger's n target
It has been here a long time. Merchants come & go. But, the shopping center is convenient & well-managed for consumers. The parking lots & sidewalks are kept clean & safety seems to be a top priority given the changing times.
They have the best security guards. . . .It doesn't matter if you are shopping at the boutique, having lunch at Panera or walking from exercise like I usually do,you are going to feel safe.
Good area to get what you need and go.
If they could get the car break ins under control it would be better
Nice shopping center many great shops and restaurants. The Panera Bread has a nice outdoor patio. This shopping center is historic and has held up well over the years.
Nice stores and home of Iris… great restaurant of Memphis.
