. My name is Laurie Doherty, I am officially a professional cartoonist, but I paint graphics of all types on just about any substrate. I started painting on windows for The Pendleton Round-Up in 1970. Living in a very rural area I have diversified my painting to fit just about any genre which is asked for. I have painted very realistic landscapes both on canvas and as murals. I created about any type of graphic from logos to cartoons on t-shirts, to menus to painting the out the outside advertising. I’ve made paper Mache animals, painted all sorts of pictures on gourds and on and on.
Right now I‘ve have about 30 book marker made out of scrapes of leather and bits of everything else ready to sell. They can depict main picture of animals i.e. cats, dogs, horses, bulls, wolves, birds and various other types with the word “READ” braided in the a bookmarker that may have any the above character and more hooked to it.
I also have just finished Doddle Tricks 2, which is an expanded version of a few pages of “Doodle Tricks” I produced over 20 years ago. I gave those mainly to teachers to help them teach kid some quick and easy fun art. This present version is 6” by 8” with the title page in color and the rest of the 16 or so pages are in black and white. Some of them would be easy for a child or an adult to color, others are easier just to try and draw. Most of the cartoons have some kind of story printed with them.
