As part of a large wedding party at the resort across the street, we were recommended to this Grill. The owner/chef complained repeatedly that we shouldn't have come as she wasn't prepared for extra customers. Our party of 8 placed different breakfast orders, all eggs were overly well done and the butter tasted like grill grease. One member of the party had serious allergies, spoke directly to the chef who assured it would be no problem. No plates delivered to the table were safe for the person with allergies. She became sick, lasting more than a week's time due to this experience. Half the party returned a second time hoping for a better experience. When one burger was discovered to be raw, the chef took the partially eaten patty, put it directly on the grill with other fresh food, and then re-served it. Would not enter this establishment again if it were the last place in Garden Bay.

Food was good ,but experience terrible, more for the poor staff who work there as their cook that day was abusive and demeaning to the other staff, very unkindly loudly berating them in front of and within hearing of customers, which I'm sure was embarrassing and demeaning to them and us. We found the serving staff to be competent, articulate and friendly, very helpful, trying their best to get our order just as we requested and going the extra mile to fulfill a special request, which when asked.. the older lady looked as though it would be difficult, she looked apprehensive but that she would try anyway, my guess is this particular cook makes the staffs job as unpleasant and difficult as possible every day, I felt very sorry for the young girl who was so sweet as this was probably her first job, and I'm sure she won't take good memories when she leaves as she goes thru life. It's terrible to work for a bully ,especially if you have no choice due to circumstances,I can relate to this and hope the owner either fires this female dark haired cook or she learns to understand her behaviour is totally innapropriate and unacceptable.
Good burgers and fries. As a group of 8 was told that there was 18% mandatory gratuity and that we should have reserved... strange for takeout. They can be really friendly or quite crabby.
Awesome little "hole-in-the-wall" out of the way place. Exactly the kind of little fast food grill you want to find. Great burgers, fries, fish n chips, shakes, wtc... Seasonally open March-ish to October-ish.
LaVerne is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet, and her food matches her personality! Pickles in the shape of hearts with the freshest, juiciest burgers and creamiest milkshakes... You won't be disappointed! If you are on the Sunshine Coast or in the Pender Harbour area, don't leave without visiting this cute diner!

Hands down best milkshake ever! Bacon cheeseburger soooo good. Yam fries to die for.
