Jody is as unprofessional as they come. In my opinion, she operates in order to maximize her clients billings, using unnecessarily broad subpoena power to increase billable time and expenditures. She refused to call back opposing counsel or return phone calls personally. She failed to notify me of changes in the trial date and time prior to me showing up. To be clear, she did not defend or represent me. I was an innocent bystander in one of her cases but her actions were so unprofessional and egregious that the experience deserves to be shared. She wasted unbelievable resources for something an emailed document probably could have solved to put me on the witness stand for 20 seconds. I truly feel sorry for her clients. My family has a long legal history in Lake County. My uncle and brother both own law firms in the area so navigating these waters are easier for me than most. In my opinion, she pushed the boundaries of what is legally acceptable on all affronts. Stay away at all costs.
Unethical practice. I went for a consultation and she gave me “good advice.” I provided names and details of my opposing party per the form I was requested to fill out and was assured my consultation was confidential However, unknowingly, I think, my opponent asked for a consultation after mine and she not only went ahead with it, but also gave them all my information, including the date of my consultation!
Completely blew my husband's case and put over $5000 down the drain by filing the wrong paper work REPEATEDLY. Jody failed to file a modification petition for custody with our emergency order and didn't request enough time for our case to be heard causing the emergency order to be dismissed. Then she served our respondent the WRONG PAPERWORK when she finally filed the petition. They served her redacted paperwork and our respondent's attorney was able to have the service quashed. To make it worse she failed to put in an address change we filled out and she charged us for, so the respondent was able to claim unclean hands in not one but two separate cases. Her paralegal also refused to give me a detailed billing invoice when I requested one. They will take your money not show you where they spend it and keep charging you when Jody really has no clue how to be an attorney and needs to go back to school!! Hire literally anyone else!
Jody did an outstanding job in helping me through a very difficult time. She calmed me down when things got crazy and responded to my questions quickly. She provided me with options and suggestions on how to deal with the situation and basically held my hand while we worked through it. I felt very comfortable with her and felt confident that she knew what she was doing, knew what was going to happen next and how to avoid issues, mistakes and expense. I believe that I made a very good choice in choosing Jody to represent me. She was just what and who I needed.
I had a DUI for the first time in my life. I felt embarrassed and humiliated. Even making the phone call to an attorney was mortifying. When a friend recommended Jody, I apprehensively made the call. Her assistant made an appointment for me within 24 hours. I was so grateful. Attorney Fisher was straightforward about what she could and could not do for me. I felt like she was honest and compassionate, but very realistic. It was my first offense and she resolved my case with a result I could live with. I would highly recommend her to anyone.
This law office is amazing! Ms. Fisher was so caring regarding my son's child support case. She guided us through the process and has given him a new lease on life since he is no longer has an enormous amount of back support to pay. The staff was courteous and helpful every step of the way. Even in court when the judge was being rude, she maintained her professional demeanor and "stuck to her guns". Working with her was a real blessing for us.
Courteous staff and always helpful. Jody had the experience and knowledge needed to get my official name change. Now, I have my Florida DL. Next, will be able to obtain a passport. Thank you Jody.
Jody took over my divorce case after it had seemed to stall with my previous attorney. Her and her staff have extensive knowledge and were quick to answer my questions and respond to my concerns. Recently I had to use the services of Ms. Fisher to settle an outstanding divorce order from Ca. from over 30 years ago. With me currently residing in Florida it presented some logistical and timing challenges. Ms. Fisher steered me through all the legal aspects and was able to attain a settlement suitable to the Ca. court system. She kept me informed every step of the way. Her legal advice was reassuring, professional and accurate. Most importantly her availability via text messaging proved to be invaluable and time saving as it provided nearly immediate answers and updates as to what was transpiring in this case which involved several parties.
