Based on Long Island since 1984 Thomas Benigno began his career as a trial lawyer for the Criminal Defense Division of the New York City Legal Aid Society. In fact, he tried his first case as a 3rd year law student in Manhattan's Benjamin Cardozo Law School, now rated among the top 50 law schools in the country. Upon leaving Legal Aid after having never lost a trial, his best friend coaxed him into real estate development. For the next few years he dealt in numerous transactions concerning private homes, apartment buildings, vacant land, mixed use property, condos and co-ops, running the gamet of residential and commercial property with countless personal experiences negotiating, developing and then selling his own projects. In the process he developed a hands-on expertise in real estate law. In 1989 he left the management/development business for good to pursue the full time practice of real estate law as a contract-to-closing attorney, which continues to this day.
