Attorney Niose is also active with the Washington-based Appignani Humanist Legal Center of the American Humanist Association, and in that capacity has been active in church-state separation matters and cases involving the rights of religious minorities. He is currently lead counsel in a case before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court seeking to enforce the rights of religious minorities under the state Constitution. Attorney Niose also serves as president of the Secular Coalition for America, a Washington-based lobbying group.
