Many people seem to have had a good experience or think they have with this attorney. I, however, had him deal with a couple cases and was not so lucky. After the first case, I realized how much better I could have done but it was over and on to the next issue at hand. This is where I saw the real Les Wight. He was lazy, unprofessional, rude, and incompetent. The first appearance at court, he said he didn't need to be there, but not so... so I was made to look a fool and the case had to be continued. The next time, he showed up but it was a more embarrassing scene than the first when he wasn't there. He obviously had no idea who or how to address the court officials, what documents were needed, etc. We got the judgment that I wanted I'm not just a begruntled client because of a lost case and I thought I would never have to deal with the man again. But alas, months later, I get a surprise when my wages were unlawfully garnished by a third-party due to an oversight he made. Frustrating but not without remedy, I went to his office to get the error corrected. He said there was nothing that could be done. I sought a second opinion and found out all that was needed was a letter written. I went back to his office and respectfully requested a simple letter. After an all-out temper tantrum and a condescending tongue-lashing, he said he would send a letter to get it resolved. Months later, I inquired of the outcome and was told he needed info which he already had and had not sent the letter. Still months later almost a year after more of the same, I have yet to hear back from him regarding the issue. An absolutely stressful, horrible experience!

I rented a rental property from Les Wight for the last year and a half. For the last 9 months I have had RAW SEWAGE back up in my basement and he has refused to do anything about it. In my opinion he is a SLUM LORD!!!!!!!! After repeatedly asking him to fix SEVERAL ISSUES no a.c. or ventilation, cracked windows, raw sewage backing up in my basement, leak in my bathtub that has caused my water bill to DOUBLE, broken garbage disposal and SO MUCH MORE I finally took my issues to the city hall and filed a complaint with the City of Independence. Les has BROKEN SEVERAL CITY CODES and is at risk of being fined for not properly maintaining his property. Instead of fixing the property so we can live comfortably with our newborn baby, Not even a week later Les filed for an EVICTION. when I moved into his property I told him my family planned to live there for 5 years. We have maintained the property, cleaned gutters, raked 5 years of leaves from back yard, and so much more. And this is how he repays us, with a wrongful eviction. Meanwhile THERE IS STILL RAW SEWAGE CURRENTLY IN MY BASEMENT. We can not wash dishes, do laundry or flush the toilet at the same time. In my opinion Les D Wight IS A SLUM LORD AND A SLUM LAWYER. If given the chance he will screw you just like he screwed me, and he will overcharge you to do it!!!!!! Do not rent from him and do not retain him for legal issues.

I had a great experience with Les he helped me out with a complicated child custody case where I needed to intervene as a third party it was a unique situation because I've raised the kids for 11 years as my own sense they where 1 and 2 years old but me and there mother where never married and haven't been together for 6 years but Les knew exactly what I needed to do and done it fairly inexpensive relatively speaking. IN MY OPINION: renting from him was the worst decision I ever made! He is not honest or helpful. Again IN MY OPINION! I don't know how he is as a lawyer but I know I would never recommend him.

This lawyer has no integrity. I guess everyone needs a defense. This lawyer seems to be good at what he does. But it’s who he is helping and why that counts. And I just noticed he liked his own page. Lol proud of himself and what he is doing.......

They did a good service cheap but les filled my paper work out for a four year trail upsetting the judge the day of court still havent recieved a call back after multiple attempts to contact them after the judge did not sign my paper work and had to send it back no money sent back seeing how its been 3 weeks with no contact.

Disgusting person. Horrid lawyer and an even worse property owner! Raw sewage in his property that he refuses to fix. Do not give this man any business in any way!!!
