Horrible. The dispatcher was extremely rude and refused to help me after I had been followed by some weird lady and had a bottle of hand sanitizer thrown at me while I was just walking home from work—and she was blocking me from crossing the street. You aren’t improving my opinion of the police. Wow. Well, here’s the insane lady following me, not that you’d even listen to me.
Thank God I finally moved out of Lawndale because this station was never helpful. A few years ago my underaged sister with mental health issues disappeared from her high school for 2 days. It was known that she was suicidal and being groomed. Her SCHOOL did way more to help out than this station. When she was finally found, an officer arrived hours later, never confirmed it was her, and didn't write a report until days later when we informed her school. The second time she disappeared at age 16, this station told us NOT TO WASTE THEIR TIME with paperwork. We told them she was again suicidal and off meds, but I guess they would only help us if we found her dead in a ditch. Officers were young and had a horrible cocky attitude. At the time, I was a health worker, and I knew this was no way to speak to anyone, much less a grieving family. Absolutely no compassion. Now that I too am a government employee, I can assertively say that this station's Officers weren't trained properly on how to interact with the community they are supposed to protect, or they simply did not care. I know there are better Officers out there... these were simply disappointing and left a bad taste in my mouth. So much for serving and protecting.
Please help find Notes! He is a missing dog. 1 year old Chihuahua Jack Russel mix. The police lost him when they wrongly imprisoned his owner and intentional left the pup alone on the street on 1/5/23. If you see him do NOT call the police of course as they are the ones who wanted the dog to die. Thank you for helping!
Read if you’re curious about their parking lot for in-person sales transactions such as Facebook Marketplace Anyways I’m planning on selling my PS5 and I wanted to call to ask if their parking lot is available to use for the transaction. The lady said “this is not a station, but a sheriff service center.” So I responded, “ok, does that mean I’m not allowed to use the parking lot?” To which she said “I’m not saying yes or no.” Look at me out here trying to respect the space of the sheriff’s, by making sure I’m respecting their space. The least the lady behind the phone can do is say yes or no. I mean how disappointing to see your tax dollars being wasted on such a miserable human being. At the end of the day, just use the parking lot. Don’t bother calling, it’ll just ruin your day. PS: I understand Sheriff Center doesn’t necessarily mean there will be on-duty officers there.
Super rude. Not helpful at all, didn’t even listen to my full story before cutting me off over and over again telling me, they can’t help. I’m in disbelief of how rude she was being. Thanks for nothing. I really hope you find a job that you actually enjoy. Because this one is not for you
A person answered said call school police for a school that does not have one. Well who do you call if someone may be vandalizing a middle school? There shouldn't be anyone on school grounds on weekends. That person was not helpful at all.
4/12/18 I'm driving southbound on Prairie. An officer pulls out of this location, going northbound on Prairie. Right in front of me with his lights off at 4:15 a.m. I flash him, he continues to go down the street north and another car pulls out in front of him. 2 near collisions. The officer still continues Northbound with his lights off. Yes, that really just happened.
called about man sleeping on front yard...30 mins later, guy still there sleeping, called again via 911...idk if they ever showed up...i guess not important. ..they are definitely weak patrolling wiseburn and delaire...zero stars
They purposefully leave dogs on the sidewalk after a wrongfully arrest and laughed about it
Super rude. I called for information & she got upset because I didn't know the information... Which is why I called in the first place... Lol. Crazy.
