Lawrence Plaza

Description

Lawrence Plaza is a shopping centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada located on the northwest corner of Bathurst Street and Lawrence Avenue West in the former city of North York. It is also the name of a small shopping plaza in Santa Clara, California serving the Korean community with a grocery store, bakery, coffee shop, and a food court; this article describes the shopping centre in Toronto.HistoryIt was built around 1953 and was visited by Queen Elizabeth II in the 1950s. The land was still cow pastures in 1951 as the homes in the area were being built in the 1950s. The mall serves the neighbourhood of Lawrence Manor. The plaza consists of a single level with offices on the second floor, except for the two-level building on the corner, which was originally occupied by Morgan's and then the Hudson's Bay Company (The Bay), the Dominion Save-a-Centre, Metro and Winners. The kosher-style (but not kosher) dairy restaurant United Bakers moved to the plaza in 1986.Around 1995, a major renovation was planned that would have resulted in a staged demolition and rebuild of the entire premises. This renovation was cancelled and no additional parking has been added to the mall since its construction.

Great plaza, very close to home, and has everything you need. Metro staff is very friendly and helpful. I hope they settle soon. They deserve the increase.
Atlist with this winners they have varities of items or produts,Compared with other winners around north york but the toilets is where i draw the line they need more cleaning and also paper towels are needed there after cleaning the hands no nothing to dry the hands…
Great bunch of stores, fab deli, lcbo and 3 banks, lots of parking and Metro supermarket. All good but many stores gone belly up no replacements now with Metro worker strike plaza quite empty.
Small plaza. Currently Metro is closed due to a strike. Winners is large, Second cup is great.
Lots of stores with quite a variety of products. I was there only for lunch at United Bakers, one of my favorite places to eat. If there was anything I could complain about at this plaza, it would be the super small parking spots and traffic congestion, especially in front of Metro supermarket.
Starting to get some nicer stores , plaza has amazing potential if redone
Lots of services/ stores that we utilize frequently. The only issue is that the parking lots is very busy and many aggressive drivers.
Great location. Have a good variety of foods. Staff are very friendly.
Waiting for Fortinos to leave so that a reasonably priced supermarket can come here.
Parking here is like finding the proverbial needle in a haystack. One is always cruising around, negotiating other drivers and their shopping bags. It's a very busy lot. Access is poor as well, and getting out can be very tricky, what with Lawrence and Bathurst both being as busy as can be. Still, there's a fair selection of merchants here and the Winner's, though quite small and disorganized, can yield some okay results. Found what I was looking for this time, however many times in the past I've come up empty and wished I'd gone to a better Winner's. Did you know someone has rated Winner's stores around the GTA? There are much more highly rated ones elsewhere. Should have referred to that article. The LCBO is small and stocks mostly higher-end bottles, which is okay if that's your goal. Good luck here!
