My family & I recently experienced the worst day of our lives when my sister was taken from us unexpectedly. Wanting to have the most beautiful funeral possible, we immediately chose Lawton-Turso funeral home. Meeting Emily, John, Matt, Mike & Marty was such a pleasure even under those circumstances. They were so patient with us through the whole process and actually understood our grief. During the funeral, it felt like they were a part of the family. Honestly, to them, it's not just a job and anyone can see that so thank you again to John & the family of Lawton-Turso Funeral Home for making the most difficult time of My life a little more bearable.
When people go out of their way, with meticulous attention to details to accommodate and help other people; their dedicated efforts and friendly manners should not go unnoticed. My aunts died several years apart, but on both occasions John Lawton was readily accessible to answer questions, provide information and meet the challenges that arose. And from wakes, funeral Masses to cemetery- everything came together. It is both comforting and inspiring to see someone who empathizes with the family. My family is truly blessed to have very close relatives whose lives deeply touched so many generations. The video slide show at my aunt’s recent wake was a reflection on that love of family in a beautiful way. And with the download- the video and photos are being shared with family and friends. I am so grateful to have chosen Lawton-Turso Funeral Home. John and his entire staff showed the utmost professionalism and compassion during the passing of my mother. John went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect; he even arranged to have my mother’s funeral mass said at the church where my parents exchanged their wedding vows over 60 years ago. John and his staff truly treated us like we were family. I would highly recommend Lawton-Turso Funeral Home.
John Lawton and his funeral home did an amazing job of making my father in laws wake such a tribute to his life. In addition the time and effort John expended on the wake he also spent countless hours helping to lay my father in law to rest in his home land in Croatia. At a very difficult time John quietly yet professionally took care of all of the funeral details in a respectful, elegant and caring manner. The photo/video tribute to my father was created by the Lawton Turso team and was a beautiful touch. They made a lasting memory of my dad which I will always cherish. John went beyond in arranging the dinner in between the 2 viewings. The Lawton Turso staff were kind, welcoming and attentive. John you went above and beyond what I ever expected.
This is quite honestly the best funereal experience I've had in my life. Director John is extremely professional, caring, knowledgable, and helpful. In our hard time, he was there to reassure us and take care of everything we needed. The funeral home itself is absolutely gorgeous and bright, whereas many funeral homes I've been to are a little bleak. At Lawton-Turso, it's more like a celebration of someone's life. Everyone I met who works here is also extremely pleasant and thoughtful. There is also a florist on site and someone who works on slide shows, prayer cards, and obituaries. All in all, truly a great experience in our time of mourning.
I cannot say enough Good Things about John Lawton he truly took the time and care to go above and beyond at a time when we are all going through the unimaginable. What a truly amazing Human being! My Mother passed away on Wednesday, 4/8 at noon in her Nursing Home of the Virus. I found John Lawton on Friday, 4/10 in the morning thru a friend’s phone call and recommendation and by 2:00 pm he was picking up my Mother and preparing her for burial. I will never be able to thank him enough for all of the kindness, care and consideration he has shown my family and I at a time like this. The most compassionate, professional, heart warming experience ever had at a time of such despair. My family and I had originally went with tradition in choosing where to celebrate my father's life. Upon meeting john and speaking within the first 20 minutes his warmth, his words, his energy and patience to have everything meticulously done in such a classy, elegant, and forever remembering way. He helped us break a old tradition just to start a new tradition with him going forward. Special thanks to Marty as well! Thank you all for everything! Words cannot Express.
During the darkest hours of my life, John and his team managed to alleviate some burdens so we could focus on grieving and spending time with my son's in the last few days before being buried. When we lost our son suddenly, the last thing you wanted to deal with was any additional headaches dealing with logistics. John and his team went out of their way to help us. They made sure our son was properly taken care of, as well as were all the dealings with various parties. They also helped us to inform the communities that our son was involved in. For the next few days, he helped us coordinate everything and being flexible to accommodate our wishes to view our son every day. He made it possible even though he was not there physically. He made extra effort to understand the challenges of our cultural background/practices. Never once throughout the process he brought up any topics related to payments and finances. While there's nothing that could take away our pains, I was glad to find John and his team. Our family really appreciate your help.
This pandemic has been hell for so many people and my family. A close friend in my family passed away and so many funeral homes weren't available. Hoboken hospital offered us John's services and he was there every step of the way for the cremation process. The place is so neat and nice. He updated us on the cremation process we choose. He is so polite and I recommend his services for whatever your facing.
