This airport is fantastic! Navigating through security was incredibly smooth and efficient, making the start of my journey stress-free. One of the best features is the close proximity of the terminals to each other. Unlike many other airports where you have to walk long distances or take shuttles, here you can easily move between terminals with minimal effort and time. This convenience significantly enhances the overall travel experience. Additionally, the airport is well-organized and easy to navigate, further contributing to a pleasant and hassle-free visit.
LAX is one of the busiest airports in the country, but some of its terminals are outdated and in need of upgrades. The transfer corridors can feel unsettling. After exploring the Tom Bradley International Terminal, Terminal 5, and Terminal 6, I found that only Terminal 6 has been renovated, offering modern amenities and nice stores. In contrast, Terminal 5 and the international terminal still show their age. Interestingly, LAX does not have a Priority Pass lounge, which is quite unusual for an airport of this size.
As first-timers to LAX Los Angeles International Airport, my partner and I arrived in Terminal 7, home to United Airlines, on Thursday prior to Memorial Day weekend. Considered one of the largest and busiest airports in the world, with nine terminals full of shops, restaurants, and VIP lounges, to our surprise, the experience went smoothly, like walking into a giant modern mall. Navigating through the airport was a breeze, thanks to clear signage and a well-thought-out layout. Upon arrival at the baggage claim, an airline employee assisted by straightening out the baggage where the handle faced the passengers to grab off the carousel. The facilities were clean and well-maintained. Our car rental in Midway was located outside of the airport. Our rental agent directed us to catch a free shuttle bus from LAX to AVIATION located on the inner curb near any pink-colored pillar outside every terminal exit easily. The shuttle bus will come in every 10 minutes, depending on the time of day. Upon departure, friendly airport staff made sure things went smoothly at check-in baggage. TSA security was reasonably streamlined, minimizing wait times. Kudos to LAX!
One of the busiest and nicest airport. Well organized and maintained. It took a while to cross immigration checkpoint while landing since too many flight land at same time. Good thing they have multi faith prayer rooms. Another good thing free shuttles from one terminal to another. Lot of cosy sitting area for transit passengers and play area for kids.
Update: A very busy yet beautiful and clean airport. I originally left a 2 star review for this airport but after flying with Delta after Spirit Airlines at the same airport, I realized that the airport had nothing to do with how horrible Spirit airlines was. Delta Airlines was amazing. Great service for a simple hour and a half flight. Original review: Spirit airlines is horrible. The plane ride wasn't the best which we ignored, but when we got off our first flight from Baltimore to LA, we found out our second flight from LA to Salt Lake City was canceled. Spirit's customer service was horrible and they left multiple families stranded in LA. They only offered to refund the second flight and not the first, then told us our only option is to wait here for 3 days for another flight or figure something else out on our own. They didn't cover hotel costs and shared little to no sympathy for customers. We're still stranded here and it has been the worst experience ever. The only reason I'm not putting 1 star is because I'm unsure if it's the airports fault that they have such a terrible airline and customer service.
I tried the little shuttle at LAX & it was great, go try it! I went from LAX - Charleston, SC with Breeze Airways, and it honestly was such a good experience. They have an affordable first class section that had some really tasty free drinks and snacks. Their planes are really new and they even had WiFi which let me stream my shows which I couldn’t download at the airport in time. I would recommend them to anyone wanting to fly across the U.S. Side note: the price of water at LAX is CRAZY.
8/2024 It's a lot bigger but more modernized since I last came through. Satisfactory amount of places to eat, but make sure to arrive earlier than usual to give you some extra time to navigate terminals, check in, and get to your gate. TSA carry-on baggage check was interesting with the two deep conveyor systems. I don't know. Considering it is presently the gateway for "the bad stuff," I wonder with that system and checked in luggage. In all, it was a pretty good experience, but again, allow yourself time.
Just arrived from Chicago and first time experienced getting off from LA International Airport. Nice modern very busy airport with lots of restaurants and souvenir merchandise for sale. Staff are very friendly and accomodating. There seems to be lacking in security in terms of your checked in baggages as no one checking if its actually your stuff you are getting and the doors to pick up points and public buses and transportation are just adjacent to the baggage areas and the main entrance/exit points.
At West cost this is one of the best airport and it is very busy. Well maintained and organized. During my trip to Las Vegas I was here for transit. I went to terminal 2 from terminal B. Both terminal are at walking distance. First time I saw at this airport toilets for pets, they made simillar toilet for pet. So there are 3 entry for toilet- one for men, another for pet and third one for women. Also they have multi faith prayer rooms. Another good thing free shuttles from one terminal to another. Lot of cosy sitting area for transit passengers and play area for kids. Really I saw this kind of airport first time. Fantastic airport.
They used to show the motto "Clear Customs Faster than you can say cheese", which they still really make happen. Efficient enough. It's the cleanest part of Los Angeles. Washrooms are taken care of. Water dispensers work. Not a beautiful airport, but organized in a well and simple manner. Lower level is arrivals; upper level is departures. Airlines operating in each terminal are clearly shown. Walkable through the whole U-shape line where they spread through. And very accessible by foot as well.
