LAX is the fourth busiest airport in the world, second in the United States, and was named Skytrax’ 2017 Top 10 Most Improved Airports.

LAX served more than 80.9 million passengers in 2016. LAX offers 742 daily nonstop flights to 101 cities in the U.S. and 1,280 weekly nonstop flights to 77 cities in 42 countries on 64 commercial air carriers. LAX ranks 14th in the world and fifth in the U.S. in air cargo tonnage processed, with more than 2.2 million tons of air cargo valued at over $101.4 billion. LAX handled 697,138 operations (landings and takeoffs) in 2016.

An economic study based on 2014 operations reported LAX generated 620,610 jobs in Southern California with labor income of $37.3 billion and economic output (business revenues) of more than $126.6 billion. This activity added $6.2 billion to local and state revenues and $8.7 billion in federal tax revenues. The study also reported that LAX’s ongoing capital-improvement program creates an additional 121,640 annual jobs with labor income of $7.6 billion and economic output of $20.3 billion, $966 million in state and local taxes, and $1.6 billion in federal tax revenues.

LAX is part of a system of two Southern California airports – along with Van Nuys general aviation – that are owned and operated by Los Angeles World Airports, a proprietary department of the City of Los Angeles that receives no funding from the City’s general fund.

So I flew in yesterday and thanking LAX right now for making a way to keep me inside the airport for my flight to Europe today. We walked 10 minutes from Alaska gate 68 to terminal B but the international side had couches and a food court that kept us almost perfect last night. I mean we could lay down. According to departure board we have to walk 15 more minutes! But that’s OK. We need that walk before our 10 hour flight. Things are very very expensive water five dollars soft drinks five dollars but meals are OK like outside at least where I live $12 for a salad. It was $10 for a bowl at panda $12 for a plate but drinks are outrageous And the international terminal the Tom Bradley terminal it’s kind of dolled up a bit. I have a PF Chang‘s upstairs food court downstairs fancy stores, police officers three of them parked outside an entrance into the airport all night and the police presence is inside the airport right now there are bars and restaurants there is even a bar at the Alaska gate in stores and restaurants. Lots of access to restaurants and if any places important for TSA I hope they are doing a great job here. They seem to be tons of flights going out overall pretty good experience and the people were pretty nice. Frankly, I’m surprised it just how nice it is for Los Angeles. We stayed by the way we didn’t wanna leave the airport because we know how long the lines are I work for an airline and the lounge we were going to buy an annual pass for Alaska, but they only open till 11 and to be honest, the couches in the area in the international term where was way nicer and the time flu because we were so comfortable. We are a party of 4 today.
My recent experience at LAX was generally positive. The airport is a bustling hub of activity, efficiently connecting travelers from around the world. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, and there was a good variety of shops and dining options to choose from. Navigating the terminals was relatively easy, with clear signage and helpful staff available to provide assistance when needed. Security and customs procedures were reasonably streamlined, minimizing wait times. However, I did find some areas for improvement. The airport can get quite crowded, especially during peak travel times, making it a bit challenging to find a quiet space to relax. Additionally, parking options were a bit pricey, and I wished for more affordable alternatives. In summary, LAX is a solid choice for air travel, offering efficient service and a good range of amenities. With a few tweaks to enhance the passenger experience, it could easily earn a full 5 stars.
Few weeks back I have traveled through Los Angeles International Airport LAX and had a fantastic experience overall. During arrival at Mid night , there was a long long queue for immigration which was last up to 2 hours till my number came. During that time I have observed that the staff at LAX were helpful except couple who were just shouting in the lobby. They were ready to help and provide any information needed. Providing assistance wherever we needed. Their professionalism and positive attitudes were evident throughout, even during busy periods. Due to some construction work going on , I recommend everyone to go little bit early to airport to avoid any traffic because of that. The airport is really nice and have plenty of terminal for domestic and international flights. So many food joint to satisfy your appetite and hunger at airport. The staff at ticket counter and check in are so helpful and co-operative. Explaining you all the minutes details you required with out any frustration. Overall, I highly recommend Los Angeles International Airport for its helping staff and brilliant travel experience. LAX is a top-notch choice for travellers.
I recently traveled through Los Angeles International Airport LAX and had a fantastic experience overall. The staff at LAX were incredibly helpful and made my time at the airport stress-free. They were readily available, knowledgeable, and approachable, providing me with prompt assistance whenever I needed it. From navigating the terminal to answering my questions, their guidance was invaluable. Their professionalism and positive attitudes were evident throughout, even during busy periods. While my experience was highly positive, there is always room for improvement. Some areas, such as signage and directions, could be enhanced to make navigation even easier. However, the helpfulness of the staff made up for any minor shortcomings. Overall, I highly recommend Los Angeles International Airport for its fantastic staff and excellent travel experience.
Needs some work. Was quick getting through security, but just overall needs a lift. Looks dirty and run down Overall selection of restaurants is also very small and places to buy souvenirs is very small. They have a cool gaming area though
You either love or hate this place , depending where you’re traveling from and to and how far are your gates apart. If you are travelling from overseas you may have first negative experience with never ending immigration lines. It seems to be the case at many major international hubs but here it’s especially painful. Easy to miss your connecting flight. If you connecting to or from domestic flight be prepared for rather long walk, depending on the airline. American Airlines are closest to international terminal B , but United gates will take you forever. It took me solid 20 mins walk and good 2 miles of never ending corridors, escalators and mazes. More confusing is that if you just arrived first time from other domestic airport and trying to get to Terminal B, well you don’t have an idea that it’s international terminal and there is not a single world mentioned about it. Each terminal has good selection of service options , cafes, restaurants and kiosks for everyone’s liking and budget. International departure is more fancy than the rest. You got multiple options of Transportation to and from airport.
Really big airport. LOTS of stores and best of all there is are some healthy food/snack choices. Transport option is to be considered ! Need to take a shuttle to bring u to ride share pick up. Do-able if u don’t have any luggages.
It's one of the largest and most busiest airports you'll ever see. This airport is just as busy as it gets, lots of foot traffic inside the airport and lots of traffic outside the airport as well, lots of cabs and Uber which is very costly due to all the traffic. Despite all that, this airport is very easy to navigate, I didn't have any problems getting to where I needed to go, so that's a plus for me.
LAX airport exceeded my expectations! The facilities were clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable travel experience. The signage was clear, making navigation a breeze. Security procedures were efficient, ensuring a smooth process. The staff was friendly and helpful, addressing any inquiries promptly. Although a busy airport, I experienced minimal delays. LAX is a top-notch choice for travelers.
Best airport so far and friendly staff, nice views and cafeteria sitting. Try to come before than your actual time sometimes it has very high crowd due to checkin and security check may take more time. Also if you need to take other terminal through airport shuttle then arrive before. Some airlines may start their boarding before then their actual time which happened with me, I was there by 10 minutes late to actual start of Boarding but luckily I don’t miss it.
