Activities:: Many guests visit Colorado Bend State Park(San Saba Co), the Eckert James River Bat cave(Mason Co), Enchanted Rock(Llano County), Vanishing River Cruise(Burnet County), See Internet for information. Of course a day in Fredericksburg is always a lot of fun. Then you can return to the quiet country! An excellent place for foreigners or out of state visitors to see the sites in the Heart of Texas. It is popular with reunion groups, large families, several families, home school families, winter Texans, women groups, and Christian or boy/girl scout groups and anyone wanting a break from the whirlwind of towns and spend a weekend or week in the country. Enjoy sitting around the round the fire pit in the back yard, listening to the coyotes, watching the deer sneak up to see whats going on.
This is a wonderful place to unwind, but it is remote. There are no nearby stores. Remember you will be in the middle of a Texas ranch. You will need to bring your own food. You will be equal distance for Brady, San Saba, Mason, and Llano. Llano has a place called Miiller's Llano Smokehouse and Mercantile that can make you some excellent meat and cheese snack plates. They have won many awards for their meats. They can make a plate for any number. I can accommodate you on getting the snack plates ordered and delivered. It is great deal for large families or groups that want to stay several nights and tour the local sites. Some of the group can come at separate times. Remember, 4 nights cost the same as two!
The ranch is an excellent location if you want to star gaze. The only city lights are on the horizon. The ranch tour gives kids an idea of the ranch setting. We feed cows and here about how they are raised. I also include a history of an old wagon trail on the ranch and historical events that happened in the hill country that really are not covered that much in the history books. I also include some geological history as we drive through several geological formations on the tour. Of course, the information is edited to fit the group. The main reason for the whole tour is to have fun. Answering kids questions is sometimes the most fun thing we do. For more video check out you tube and Pontotoc memories God Bless Texas
