I really like this location - you can park on the street and just walk directly to the restaurant high ceiling, lots of room to sit , lively atmosphere. The prices are decent - two people can get breakfast for under $20 I got the vegetable omelette on sourdough yum for 9 and we got a bowl of tomato basil soup for 8 The Menlo Park farmers market is right across the street open on Sundays
Quite an enjoyable breakfast experience here. I loved the toasted pesto chicken sandwich and really appreciated them willing to make it with focaccia bread for me upon request. The focaccia came out perfectly warm and toasty without being too crunchy and had a light simple filling. We also had their New England clam chowder which was pretty good as well.
Ordered the spinach mango salad for the entire office and all the fruit that was in the salad was rotten. The mango and tangerines in the salad were super gross!!
I love their bagels, I come here to study the environment is PERFECT, not that busy, there is a variety of seating and tables. This place is just, perfect!
I love the soup and sandwiches served at the place, I tried a good portion of the menu and it’s been nicely done all the time, the bread is fresh and the right amount of toast with fresh ingredients. Good beverage menu with lots of seating outside and a longe area inside.
I’m on a budget, but also love going out to eat. I want to continue doing both, so I found a way to do so. I got out a lot and order the cheapest food and sometimes no food at all. I third wheeled this place, which I’m totally fine with because on a tricycle the third wheel is just as important as the other two. The first and second wheel got some delicious looking breakfast sandwiches and the third wheel me got a large coffee. I really wanted to get some food, but remembered I’m on a budget, so I lied to myself and said I wasn’t hungry. I don’t remember the last time I wasn’t hungry, but I had to make a decision between coffee and food. My caffeine addiction outweighed my need for nutrition. The coffee was great and I know the food was great by the resentment I was building towards my friends as I watched their facial expressions when they were eating. Next time I go here I believe my nutrition needs will overcome my coffee addiction.
I ordered a croissant and sadly, it is an imposter. There are no buttery, flaky, melt in your mouth layers; the lamination that makes a croissant, well, a croissant. It is a large, dense, dry bread roll masquerading as a croissant. It’s disappointing. This cafe lured me in because of the French name, however there is nothing akin to French bread and pastry making here. I feel bamboozled, and will not be finishing it. A waste of $3.49. I will say however, the guys who work here were very pleasant. Be well.
I got a bagel with cream cheese and a coffee here. The bagel was very good and the coffee was average. I would definitely come back for the bagel but in terms of coffee there are a few nicer options for cafes in the area. The service was quick and the cashier was friendly. The cafe itself is nice and large with a lot of seating
This looks like nice place once COVID 19 restrictions lifts. They need to find a way to open up some of the indoor seating. Food is good. I was expecting more meat on my pastrami sandwich. A touch more mustard would be nice also. I don't live here so I probably will not be back.
The bread is still wonderful cookies and danishes and other thing treats but the sandwiches are just not as nice as they used to be! These to be more generous than they are now.. So the above was my review from 2 years ago and I've changed my rating from 4 stars to two stars only because the service was OK. I very seldom go out to eat now but I always go to Le Boulanger when in Menlo Park. Today was one of those days and I was soooo disappointed, the bread was actually stale and the sandwich was dry and had no flavor. You'd think with all of the surrounding restaurants competing for customers that you would get great food but not the case here. I'm probably not going to waste my time and money here again!
