Don’t believe the negative reviews here about this little French gem! For example, someone complained the pear tart was bland! Oh please It was delicious and as you know pear is a subtle tasting fruit! Amazing bakery with excellent eclairs, cakes, pastries! I loved the madeleines, fruit tarts and one of the best croissants I have ever tasted in my life. BRIGITTE the employee deserves all the recognition! Seen her during busy times , slow times and she never fails to help, smile and quick to answer your questions! You can see her smile in her eyes even with a mask! Friendly and professional! Thank you! Will definitely visit again even with my four hour drive to this bakery
Almost cakes have gone nearly 3 pm. They said "almost cakes will be sold in the morning." And "If you know which cakes you want to please call" The taste is good, not too sweet
Great pastries, coffee, and treats at this French bakery! Under new ownership since the previous owners retired, I'm pleased the new owners have carried on the tradition of delicious, high-quality French baked goods in Narberth. I've tried plenty of pastries from other spots and this place has the best croissant and chocolate croissant in the area, hands down.
I bought one Amandine and one Lavender eclair. Amandine taste was very good, but the eclair is not impressive except its lavender aroma and taste. A staff was kind. I got there at around 3:30PM right before closing its office hour at 4:00 PM. There were limited choices than I expected because I guess I got there late. Its interior was a little bit disappointing compared to its outside looks.
I used to go to this place a few years back and it was one of the best croissants in Philadelphia. However, I went back on Sunday and it was so stale and dry i almost choked I had to throw the rest away. Super disappointed since they were once my favorite. Maybe they had an off day, but it was terrible I’ve had better croissants from Costco. Did they change owner?
New owners took over the previous owners after 21 years . They have great stuffs . My second visit today and I asked for a receipt. I spent $31+ to be surprised with $1,40 credit card charge without knowing. It should be a sign at the counter. Even though I don't think is really fair to be charge any fee . The previous owners had I think a 50 cents flat fee .
COVID-19 bPlace is situated in downtown Narberth and offers outdoor tables and street parking. We just moved to the area and walked over because my boyfriend enjoys french pastries for breakfast and the reviews were good. The shop is very cute and I give service 5 starts for being very attentive and friendly. They had an assortment of croissants, tarts, cakes, eclairs, macrons, and waffles for sale. We ordered a box of 7 items for about $22 and took them home to try see picture below. The verdict for us was good but not outstanding as we had hoped. The croissants we tried were chocolate great toasted outer croissant that's isn't too flakey or overly buttery just minimal chocolate inside which was a disappointment. The pumpkin croissant filling was overly sweet but not enough pumpkin flavor just meh again croissant is good. The raisin danish was my least favorite item very dry and dense I didn't finish it not too sweet. The almond croissant was the best but a little too soggy not a deal breaker but flavor was great. We also ordered two tarts apricot and pear and a lacie cookie dark chocolate, almond, butter absolutely delicious for .90 cents. The tarts crusts had a nice texture, great flavor. The best one was apricot because of the flavor and soft texture in contrast with the tart. The pear one lacked flavor and was overly sweet tasted like a slimy sugar cookie. Final verdict is support local businesses and find what you like this place is cute and there is something for everyone I'm just offering suggestions and price point is fair for quality and portions.
I've been going to Le Petit Mitron for 20+ years, and admittedly with a new owner, I was a little unsure how my experience would be. I'm also a business owner and know how hard it must be to take over someone else's longstanding business with customers who expect the same quality. Well - today I was truly blown away by the quality and offerings at Le Petit Mitron. They have captured the magic of the previous owners, condensed the offerings which I appreciate since I always felt there was more quantity than quality in recent years there and even added some incredible options Seriously, the Kouign Amann BLEW me away today, WOW. The Croissants taste better than ever, and the staff could not have been friendlier. BRAVO to the new owners, and welcome to Narberth!
Not the same with the new owners. They are lovely but, No special cakes, the croissants didn’t taste like they used butter.
Neighborhood gem! We love the little filled beignets and croissants but you have to get there early for the cheese croissants because they go quickly! The cinnamon rolls are so light and delicious
