my flight was at 8:40 AM. i arrived at 7:30 and TSA was not open. I came back at 7:45 and TSA was open, and i was the first one through. All of the staff were very friendly and the bags were out very fast, especially in the heat. There are also very good free parking spots. And, the best of all, you can watch your family/friends fly away! There are great viewing areas around the front. Best & most modern regional airport ever!
This is the smallest airport I’ve ever been to. Staff was friendly, and even the TSA was only one step away from pleasant, which is definitely the nicest thing I have ever said about a TSA agent, and maybe the only time I’ve ever said something about s TSA agent without swearing.
Parking is great and free. Its about 20 steps from check-in to gate. Fully stocked vending machines and a brief outside walk to the plane. Makes you feel like you’re boarding a private jet.
Extremely poor customer service. Going through united and the lady that “checked” me in told me oh their “basic economy” and that there isn’t enough seats on the plane. Then proceeded to say we can put you on a flight for tomorrow at 12 and that it will switch on my app. Extremely rude person. Has not changed and instead now says I have no flights booked. Arrived 2 hours early to the flight as well. This was December 24, 2022 at 7:30 a.m. whoever the short, heavy set woman was. You are an awful human being.
If I can give zero stars I will. I hate Hobbs for this reason, the staff is insane. I showed up 30 min early for my flight and they said sorry to check the bag you have to go through security because they shut down loading the bag 1 min and 30 seconds ago. I asked them please can they just check the bag they said sorry, leave behind or trash any liquids over 100ml in your bag. So I took my getting ready stuff back to my truck and went through the security and they said ok you go load your bag on the cart because it is too big for a carry on. I said but they told me it cannot be loaded anymore and have to be checked. The guy told me it still have to go on the plane but had to go though security, so why in the world did I had to take my getting ready stuff out. It’s insane how they thinking method are. I flew out of Midland a few times and their airport are amazing and very willing to help, So glad I moved out of Hobbs.
I am flying United Airlines to Pittsburgh, Pa. on a return flight of a round trip. I arrived Hobbs 4 days ago late evening. There was little or no interaction to any airport personnel due to the time of night. Now on the return flight I am scheduled to leave during the middle of the day. Many airport personnel. Never have I been in an airport that treated me as kind and with as much respect as the employees in this airport. I felt as if I was a guest that was valued. Thank you and I hope this review gets read by the employees & management of Airport.
HORRIBLE experience with Lea Regional Airport! Rude staff who do not take accountability for the mistake made on their behalf and their airline. We were set to fly out of this airport with our grand daughter and were RUDELY told by MARTIN on the day of our departure that she would not be allowed to fly because we need to purchase her a ticket AFTER it was a United Airlines Agent who specifically told us she could fly as a lap child when we made the reservation months in advance. This should have been a policy across the board, instead I was misinformed by one of the agents costing us inconveniences of having to change our flight to the following day and having to take our grand daughter back to her parents home because according to MARTIN "your only option is to buy a ticket for her and that's it!". Now mind you tickets to fly out that day were $1000. Ridiculous. Again, no consideration or understanding from MARTIN, just plain rude! MARTIN, you need to work on your customer skills especially if you call yourself a "supervisor". If these are the qualities that Lea Regional Airport seeks in their supervisors/managers then the whole airport needs some guidance. This will definitely be the last time we fly out of this airport and use United Airlines.
New machine at TSA “couldn’t read colorado ID’s”, while TSA agent said needed a printed copy of The boarding pass, instead of on the phone, in the check in area. After waiting 20 min for help And going back to security TSA agent then claimed it wasn’t his responsibility to find someone to help. Missed flight because it’s not “TSA’s responsibility” to have a machine that works.
Great little airport with service to Houston and now Denver... it’s very exciting to have more options of direct flights from Hobbs. I have no complaints... Plus the free parking is a nice perk.
A small regional airport. No need to arrive early . No one is at the counter until 1 1/2 hours before your scheduled flight. TSA screening starts 1 hour before the flight. No food or vending except by the gate, but there is free coffee. There is only 1 gate.
