Good atmosphere, friendly service, great food! A group of six of us ate here for the first time last week. It's a little drive outside Livingston, but we will most likely be back, as the Livingston restaurants are wanting. The paper menu they hand you is completely out of date with options such as the no longer offered all you can eat catfish and prices. However, the giant blackboard where you order has correct information. All of our food was out at the same time in a timely fashion, and it was all hot. We also liked that the breading on our fried foods was light even the french fries. Everyone ate something different from the menu, and there were no complaints and very little leftovers.
Excellent experience here tonight. Thin Catfish is great, crispy goodness. Shrimp was plump ,crispy, and perfectly cooked. Oysters crisp crust soft inside. Blackened Catfish was perfect with the crawfish etoufee and red beans. Chicken poboy. Outstanding as well. I am excited to go back.Food: 5/5
I had the catfish boat, and it was delicious. Cooked crispy just the way I like it. My granddaughter had the popcorn shrimp and ate every bit. The red beans and rice are really good, also. With just the right spice. Fried mushrooms were the best I have ever had anywhere. We gave this place a two thumbs up.Food: 5/5
Great place for seafood/catfish- really just about anything for which you might have an appetite. Friendly staff and very bayou homey atmosphere. Walk up to the counter to view the menu board, place your order and find your favorite table or big booth. We had the pick 2 with fried jumbo shrimp and thin and crispy catfish. It was very good. Definitely recommend.
Good food and relaxed atmosphere. You walk in and order at counter and then find a seat which seems a little unusual for this type restaurant but it works, and maybe saves a little money both fir them, and us on tips! Not far a little bit down the road is the lake so you can enjoy it to if desired.Food: 4/5
This place was super cute and the food was fresh and delicious. It’s got a very country feel but in a cute way. My husband and I went for a date as at just moved here and the staff was very attentive and super friendly. We split a small bowl of crawfish étouffe and a pistolette. The étouffe had a great roux and flavor. The crawfish tasted fresh not frozen. The pistolette was also amazing and delicious. Plenty of gravy and crawfish. My husband ordered the gator nuggets and said they tasted fresh and not gamey. I got the pick two and got the catfish and jumbo shrimp. Both were amazing! Very fresh and a great flavor. The hush puppies were awesome too. Will def go back and highly recommend
amazing place and food, the price is right and the waiting time bearable. Highly recommended, their wide menu has many delicious options, the atmosphere is very nice. I hope to return and taste other plates.Food: 5/5
Super sweet staff… Of course it’s Livingston Texas! Extremely tasty food. If you like fried fish and fried shrimp and fried oysters… This is an excellent place to come. It is not over cooked and is not greasy. The food was extremely good and we would not have known about this place had we not stumbled upon it. We will seek it out next time. It was a nice surprise. The atmosphere is wonderful. They have a really cool and breezy front patio that is covered to eat outside and enjoy the Texas weather. This is one of the rare gems in The Texas Piney Woods. We will definitely be back.
Located a little outside of the main area of town in an inconspicuous building, so watch for it. Ample parking on a Sunday afternoon. No wait, despite a steady stream of customers. All of the staff were very friendly and the service was prompt. I had gumbo and a cajun seafood combination platter. Everything was good, especially the catfish. We enjoyed being able to have a long lunch visiting with a friend without being pressured out. We'll definitely come back when traveling through the area!
1st few times we went, loved it. Seems as though the quality and quantity of food have gone down. You get way too many fries and shrimp are more like medium instead of jumbo. Still love there coleslaw….Food: 3/5
