Legal Aid of Northwest Texas

What a worthless organization. I've tried 5 times to seek help from the McKinney organization and while I qualify, I am denied assistance. The limited advice I do get isn't good and does not compare to paid advice from other attorneys acquired from either free consolations or $20 for 30 minutes meetings. They even admit that they are not experienced in the area I need help with and their advice would put me in a worse position. As a disabled veteran who has many physical/mental issues, this organization has no time to help me. I'm will either be homeless or worse. I guess we veterans really are suckers and losers. Mostly in believing that the citizens we protected will return the favor. Thanks for nothing LANWT, again.

The ladies are very friendly, knowledgeable of the business that transpired. It was a smooth and welcoming experience.

I would avoid this place for any family law issues. The organization attempted to accept items dropped off by grand parents and great grand parents for a client of theirs. The client refused the items and after a year + of holding on to or attempting to hold on to the items they informed the grand parents and great grand parents that they could recover the items from them. On an attempt to recover several hundreds of dollars in items were missing. These items were meant to be Christmas and birthday presents for the grand children/great grand children. Instead of the items making it to them or staying it storage it appears that whomever was in charge of keeping the items for them this law office or its affiliates let them walk away. Who took them I can not say, but if they were in the care of the legal office... In short if you want a organization capable of showing care for all parties in a family law issue, it becomes evident this isn't the organization to choose based on this experience. Further whenever the grand parents and great grand parents were there and got emotional over the issue of the missing items they were criminally trespassed. Imagine my shock on hearing that. I would think experienced lawyers and staff in family law would be experienced in handling this sort of situation with caring and empathy. Instead they have police escort people out who are emotionally charged.

My children were kidnapped by their mother after she was placed under investigation by the CPS for alleged drug use. When their former elementary school contacted me about a record transfer request they received I was finally able to locate them AFTER SIX MONTHS; in California. I needed them back here safe with me, but had virtually no resources for legal assistance. Having a BSLS degree I had a good idea what I needed to do but no experience. I approached LANWT about the possibility of assisting me. After careful review they agreed. They guided me step by step through the process from start to finish and even offered to write a final order based on my specific needs. They were absolutely awesome! They didn't take legal responsibility for liable, but who would for free? I was very knowledgeable about what I wanted the outcome to be but without their leadership I would have never, in as much time, been able to navigate the specific legal forms and process. THANK YOU SO MUCH LEGAL AID OF NORTHWEST TEXAS BECAUSE OF YOUR ASSISTANCE MY KIDS ARE NOW WHERE THEY BELONG; SAFE AND HERE WITH ME ...

They were like angels in my life and I'm so grateful. They are Good, they really help starting from the receptionist and very professional lawyers working there.

Received the assistant I was searching for and a timely manner. The lawyer was knowable and very good in what she does.

I took my neighbor she does not speak English so I translated for her we were there about three hours so I didn't think that was bad

Good place. Helping those in need. I just got bad luck as my case was too complicated.
