My 4 year old was just tall enough for most of the rides and had an outstanding time. The rooms were awesome and the theme was carried well throughout the entire park and hotel. The included breakfast at the hotel was delicious and the servers were friendly. No surprise food in the park was over priced and lackluster. The bathrooms all over the park were immaculate. Men's bathrooms even included changing tables. Staff in the park were super friendly and made the kids feel special. Especially mentioning when they had Lego merchandise on. I would absolutely come back for another visit.
Spent the day with the birthday girl. She just turned 9 and went on all the rides except for the roller coaster due to a storm was coming. There was a lot of people there but it wasn't bothersome like at other similar attractions. The water area was closed for the season, but that's okay. We had such a great time that we'll be coming back with the rest of the family. One fee gets you in and then you just get in line for the rides. There was one alcohol stand near the roller coaster of you're into that. I highly recommend going but be aware. They are cashless. I ordered the tickets and parking online since it was cheaper and we got in and out pretty quick.
The entrance fee is not worth the cost/benefit. We didn't stay at the hotel, only at the park. We went as a family and each ticket cost more than 60 dollars per person. We went on a weekday because I had read that the queues were long. In fact even on weekdays the queues are long, but the worst is not the queue itself but the feeling of being slow on purpose. We have already visited Disney, six flags and the slowest park to make the queue move. Only one employee for each toy, he checks the queue, puts on seat belts and turns on the toy, which makes it take a long time for the queue to move. Another issue over five toys that weren't working. The food is really absurd, disrespectful to the customer. Positive points sensory rooms and specific warnings, very cool for children with diagnoses. the theme is cool, but definitely and for children under 12 years old. Yes, your child will have fun. Maybe, if they improve in queues, or extend their working hours, ironing and reviewing your food price policy would be much better. If the idea is not to have time for people to do everything and come back, it's not working because you leave the park angry. Food & drinks: A higher than normal price for a park
I went on a weekday, which was probably a better choice. The process of getting in was very quick. The bathrooms were clean and the lines were no longer than a 30 minute wait. I took away a star for the food. I had the burger that really tasted like school food, but the fries were really good. The refill cups should also be refilled at every location instead of certain spots, but I found the staff to be very friendly and they all made my daughter's birthday more memorable. They understood the assignment!!! Food & drinks: The pizza only offered pie options. I guess it was equivalent in size to a slice, but tasted good. The hamburger was not great at all. I didn't expect it to taste like it came off the grill, but it was very clear we were eating frozen patties that were probably heated in a microwave. The saving grace were the fries.
Had someone employee unlock and open up the family bathroom while we were in it. No knock, and we hadn't been in more than two minutes. Also, no one was there apologizing when we got out. For only being a few years old it sure had a lot of rides down. Two rides we were in line for broke while we were waiting for them. The breakdown was communicated within a few minutes, but all that time was lost. Other parks will give you a pass to come back and skip the line for that ride when it's operational again, not the case here. Two rides had cars that were broken, but the remainder of the ride operated. If you do the water area, change ahead of time. You only get 20 minutes, and there are only a handful of changing rooms, so don't waste your 20 minutes waiting for a room and changing. Only 1 of the 4 car chargers was operational. Employees were nice enough, but only one or two were into it. Rest were pleasant, but you could tell it was a job they were ready to go home for the day from.
I did not stay at the hotel - only visited the theme park. Came with my son on a Tuesday in late August and the lines were ridiculously long. This wasn't even due to the number of people - the park was so understaffed. One person working per ride is not nearly enough - to let everyone on, cross-check, start the ride, let everyone off, cross-check again...takes forever and makes the lines miserable. Please hire more people and put at least two staff on each ride. This will give everyone a much better experience - but I could see the queue issue being a smart way for Legoland to promote their expensive Reserve and Ride program which is what we ended up doing. The grounds were pretty and well maintained, but not nearly enough shade as the planted trees aren't mature yet, and the layout of the park is strange: it's built on a slope with a lot on the top of the park and a lot at the bottom of the park, and not much in between. If you don't have a stroller, everything is up/down stairs. With a stroller, it's a long, meandering trail up and down the hill, going fairly out of the way. This is worth noting if people in your party have mobility issues. The food issue is also huge - only 3 restaurants providing proper meals not sweets or snacks and those lines were also out of control. We ended up going to the King's Feast and waiting over 50 minutes for our food to be ready. My son did have a good time on the rides, and the Lego Factory, Ninjago, and 4D theater were impressive. Because the park is relatively new, I think we experienced it during its 'growing pains'. The kinks aren't worked out yet, so I'll probably wait a while before visiting again.
Park review, didn’t stay at the hotel. This place is awesome, way better than the 3.9* average. Lots of cool rides and things to do, you can easily spend 6+ hours here, tickets are affordable, it’s clean and nice, and the food is decent. Key tips: Get there early, like when they open. Rides have no lines early, but lines later in the afternoon 20-30 minutes for some rides, even more for others. It’s not the most efficiently run place, and the fast pass is really expensive — just get there when they open and enjoy the first 2-3 hours without lines. Do book tickets online the day before, they’re cheaper. Sunscreen. There’s not a ton of shade. We didn’t do the water area but it looked fun — look into the procedures, bring a towel and swimsuit for that you get soaked. Free EV chargers in the parking lot. Super clutch. And free! And right next to the entrance.
We went to Legoland on a Friday in September and it was awesome! The friendly staff go out of their way to enhance the experience. We got there when they opened and the kids loved the interactive element. There were no lines the day we went. Our 3 year old was able to go on the majority of the rides. We loved the factory tour, mini land, Lego play stations. They had Halloween candy for the kids, really nice gift shops and the food is reasonable compared to other parks. The photo card is a great system. We can’t wait to go back!
UPDATE, August 2023: Being the second summer coming to LEGOLAND NY, it was a great experience again. We went twice to the NEW Water Playground and, even though you only have 20 minutes to play, we had an awesome time! The water features, slides, fountains, and giant dumping water bucket made this attraction thrilling. The staff were nice and seemed to really get groups in and out of the park quickly and efficiently. We enjoyed cooling off before lunch and again at the end of the day. We noticed some improvements from last year though there still need to be more. Thanks for adding more shaded areas for guests and misting stations. This made the hot day more bearable; however, there needs to be more shade and misting stations. There also needs to be more water refill stations. Also, get there early to avoid long admission lines; however, staff moved guests through the lines quickly. Until we meet again next summer, LEGOLAND NY, thanks for a great time! Walkability: Expect to do a lot of walking up and down hills at Legoland NY. Wear good shoes. Food & drinks: There is a variety of food at the park, but expect to overpay for food. This is very common in an amusement parks. I prefer to eat in "pirates" because it is cafeteria/buffet style and does not require an app to order.
Love it!! The park was very well kept and super clean thank you. My daughter myself and my Dad had an amazing time. Love it and would definitely recommend to visit especially if you have little one. The rides were a ton of fun and would recommend going on the weekend since there will be less people and less waiting time. Make sure to take your bathing suit for the water park and make reservations on the day you are going which start at 7am. Enjoy!!
