We are an undergraduate club celebrating South Asian culture and heritage at Lehigh University.
Welcome to Lehigh University’s Indian Students Association! Our mission is to promote awareness of South Asian culture and its rich heritage here at Lehigh.
(ISA is an undergraduate club at Lehigh. If you are a graduate student looking to join India Club, please refer to https://www.facebook.com/groups/LU.IndiaClub/ )
ISA organizes and participates in several campus-wide events to further this mission. The club teaches Garba (an Indian dance) in order to celebrate the Indian holiday of Navratri. ISA also partners with India Club to put on the annual Diwali show, celebrating the Indian festival of lights. Members perform cultural dances at events such as FUSION and International Bazaar. The main event of the year is Holi, the Indian festival of colors. Lehigh students gather on the front lawn and throw color to celebrate unity and the arrival of spring. Over 600 students attended the event in 2015! The Diwali Show and Holi have also both received Lehigh’s Student Life Leadership Award for the Best Cultural Program over the past few years!
In addition to campus-wide events, ISA holds numerous social activities for its members. Outside of weekly club meetings, members attend dinners, Bollywood Movie Nights, and on-campus cricket tournaments. ISA also attends Philadelphia 76ers games annually when the arena holds Indian cultural nights. Finally, the club celebrates the end of each semester by holding formals.
ISA holds meetings in Maginnes at 5:30 every Thursday!
