The Lennox Area Historical Society and Museum are located at 305. S. Main, Lennox, South Dakota. The Museum features photographs and collections representing everyday life, education, and culture in the Lennox area since early pioneer days.
The purpose of the Lennox Area Museum is to collect, preserve, study, and exhibit those objects that will serve to illustrate the history of man and nature in this area.
The museum will collect artifacts and specimens that depict the area's past in terms of natural resources, exploration, settlement, education, cultural achievement, agriculture, manufacturing, trade and transportation, which brought profound change to this area.
The museum will provide for the preservation of such material and for its availability to all those who wish to see and study it.
The institution is a non-profit, educational establishment, operated for the community's betterment, and open to the public, regardless of race, creed or occupation.
The museum will disseminate knowledge and stimulate interest through materials, publications, information services, and otherwise, by holding meetings and by arranging special programs for the furtherance of the purpose of the museum.
The museum will co-operate with the state museums and other museums in the region to collect and preserve materials of significance so that these materials may be preserved and aid in the advancement of knowledge of the area and state.
