Lenny and the DreamMakers is a group of people whose mission is to reach out to people who are homeless in our community.
Our Mission Statement is: Face to Face, Hand to Hand, Heart to Heart. Touching One Life at a Time with Simple Acts of Kindness"
Lenny and the DreamMakers was founded by Mary Beth and Dennis Quinsey in December 2014. They had an idea to reach out to the homeless in our community by supplying food, toiletries and items of comfort on New Years Eve. After the success of that night and the connections they made, Mary Beth and Dennis decided to make their endeavor into an annual event, which then turned into the desire to have four outreach nights each year. We call them our "Capers."
We are an all volunteer organization with approximately 12 members. We are currently raising funds to continue to reach as many people as possible with items to make their current struggles a little more bearable. Mary Beth has worked most of her life assisting those struggling with homelessness find stable supportive housing. With this experience, we also strive to connect those in need with appropriate social services.
Lenny and the DreamMakers desire to reach as many people as possible and to be a part of all the moments that you see on someone's face when they realize that someone cares about them as they are, where they are.
We are fundraising throughout the year. To donate, please click on our DONATE button to make your tax deductible gift.
In addition to financial support, we are always in need of the following items. If you have any of these items, please message our page for donation instructions. Thank you!
Small flashlights
Ziplock bags, cloth bags
Backpacks
Feminine products
Q-tips
Toothbrushes (ask your dentist for a donation)
Diapers size 4, 5, 6 or pull-ups
Individual laundry detergent pods
Socks (socks are golden)
Blankets
Any warm clothing item
Hats/gloves/scarves
Bath towels and wash cloths
We also need people who love to do arts and crafts. We have several outreach programs that involve lots of crafting. One of the crafts is plarning. It's the creation of waterproof sleeping mats that are very much in demand. Mary Beth will be more than happy to explain this great crafting project. We will teach you how to make the sleeping mats. It is an easy but time-consuming project. We need more plarners!
