I'm a 43-year-old female filled with imagination and drive. I live by the motto 'It's a YES, until God says NO'. Which leads me to why YOU are currently reading about ME. I had the crazy idea that you can make a Health tasty donut from Lettuce as the main ingredient.
Ok let me back up and give you more information about myself. My mother passed away on the operating table when I was 7 years old and my sister, Iris was 11. That's a day and time I will never forget. My last gift to her was a mini ginger spice cake I made in my toy oven. I made it and brought it to her in the hospital the day before she passed.
So after the funeral we packed out belongings in a suitcase and left Vanceboro North Carolina for Hauppauge New York. My Aunt Reola and Uncle Rock welcomed us in their house hold and the following years were filled with memories that you cannot put a price tag on. I finished high school with honors and attended Suffolk Community College where I obtained my Associates degree in Business Management. I then transferred my degree and went to a small private college off the lake called Dowling College. All during this time I was working a full time job and going to school full time during the day, night and weekends. I graduated in 1991 with a degree in Business Management.
Now what? Ok to fast forward, I currently live in Dallas, Georgia with two beautiful children, Alexxa Brianna and Aaron Curtis. We also share our living quarters with dogs that we rescued from the Paulding Animal Shelter here in Georgia.
Through out the years my main line of business has been in the insurance claims industry where I have held positions as dedicated specialist to major corporations, Team Leader, Supervisor and account coordinator among many other titles. I also managed my own business as I stepped out on faith to become an independent adjuster. I trained adjusters to work for me and am currently still handling claims.
Since both of my parents are in heaven (my father, James Calvin passed away at an age of 53 from prostate cancer) I have been so health conscious and try to eat and live a healthy clean life. My nephew calls my kitchen cabinet 'Vitamin Land'.
Daily I see people purchasing items to eat that hold no nutritional value at all. My co-workers laugh and say I'm drinking swamp water as I slurp down my green Kombotchu drink. Yum!
Well this year I came up with the concept of a Healthy Donut. Many children as well as adults do not eat a well balanced diet. Life has changed and is so fast forward --- people eat on the go. My product will not "cure" items but it will be the start of healthy awareness. It shows how eating healthy can be tasty as well as a 'fast food' item.
Through out the years I have raised my children as a single mother sacrificing and overcoming the challenges that come with being a mother who had to do it all by her self. I guess my love for cooking came at an early age when I would bake for my mother.
I want you too to enjoy this product that I have developed and continue to pass the torch to your family.............I challenge you to experiment and bring this awareness to the next stage while eating dinner with your loved ones.
