Nice spot amongst the urban landscape of Comox to go for a leisure walk around the park, or swim in the river. Depending on the season, you may be lucky to see lots of large fish in the water, or seals that seem pretty friendly. Up the river is a rope swing that is pretty awesome. Volleyball nets are set up for use too.
What a great little park in Courtney, BC! We were traveling through, staying in Comox, over Canada Day 2023. We rode our bikes to the park…”Completely Creedence”, a Credence Clearwater Revival” band was playing and they were fantastic! After them, Fred Penner played, and found the child in all of us! Then they raffled off EIGHT bikes to kids 3-12! Wonderful memories were made!
Love this park! The ball fields are a massive big open field where city events take place, is great for sports and sports tournaments, there is a river that winds around it, there are building for rent in the field, stages available, a skate park, there is a huge Rec center and facilities, there is a huge park for all ages tots and up, in the summer there is a free splash park, a free wading pool and a pay for outdoor pool! See the Courtnenay Recreation Guide for full details, but just amazing facilities and staff! Playground: Ages Toddler+ all different kinds of equipment, and during the day in the summer there is a splash park in the Playground area, and a free wading pool near by. Restrooms: I think there are public washrooms near the river in a building and in the recreation centre it's self Dog-friendliness: I think on leash dogs are welcome Picnic area: I think there are picnic tables scattered about, also really nice soft grass would be good for a blanket laid out
Beautiful park on the river in downtown Courtenay. Walking trails connect and go quite far. Kids playground, water park, pool, skate park, tennis courts, lawn bowling club, multiple fields, Recreation center, squash, amphitheater, huge stage, public events. Bathrooms and changerooms for river swimming. Playground: Huge fun kids play zone! Restrooms: Changerooms for river swimming, bathrooms during daylight hours. Picnic area: Tons of picnic tables and benches all along the park, and along the path beside the river.
We were here for the Comox Cruise and Car Show. The park itself looked great and was well kept, as were the washroom. The Event was Amazing. Restrooms: Very clean and easy access.
