Besides our storefront on historic Wooster Street in New Haven, we are also located at 323 Washington Avenue in North Haven, next to Luigi's Pizza.
Libby's Italian Pastry is a family owned and operated bakery which was founded in 1922. Located in the heart of New Haven's Little Italy, Wooster Street, it is well known throughout the East Coast and beyond. Our motto, "Quality Plus Distinction" was created by Liberato and Guiseppina Dell'Amura when they opened in 1922. Since then the tradition has been carried on by several generations of family members including their son and daughter, Fortunato Dell'Amura and Mae Defelice, Adele Dell'Amura, wife of Fortunato, granddaughters Jo-Ann Dell'Amura, Dolores Dell'Amura, Marie D'Angelo, Leona Delcore and great grandsons, Salvatore D'Angelo and Marc D'Angelo. Antonio D'Angelo, husband of Marie, runs Cafe Villa Gina within the New Haven location, which was named after their daughter Gina D'Angelo-Mullen. In March 2009 Salvatore and Marc, opened a second location in North Haven on Washington Avenue. It is operated with the help of Salvatore's sister in law, Brittany Nappi. The North Haven location has all the same great cookies, pastries, and Italian ice/Gelato as the original, along with coffee, cappuccino, and espresso for a great after dinner experience. Throughout the four generations at Libby's Italian Pastry Shop, one thing has remained constant -we deliver a great product that makes people smile!
