The Liberty Hose Company was first organized on July 14, 1866, and was the first fire station organized in Shamokin. The Liberty was officially chartered on November 12, 1873, however, the Friendship Fire Company received their charter first. Initially located at the corner of Franklin & Sunbury Streets (currently the Sunbury Street playground). Later moved to Lincoln & Liberty Streets, across from the Rescue Fire Company (currently the site of the Shamokin Fire Museum). The present building was opened on October 1, 1896, and we have been serving the our community and surrounding communities from it ever since.
