Description

Liberty Savings Bank, F.S.B., was founded in 1889 in Highland County, Ohio, when a group of businessmen pooled their funds to create the Lynchburg Building and Loan Association. The Association was formed to help meet the community’s demand for home ownership, and over the years several business mergers helped to strengthen this small, rural bank.

In the late 1960s, Lynchburg Building and Loan Association merged with Superior Loan and Building to form Highland Savings Association. The company continued to grow and strengthen, and when a third office was opened in nearby Wilmington, in Clinton County, Ohio, the name was changed to Liberty Savings Association. James R. Powell acquired the company in September, 1984, renaming it Liberty Savings Bank, a Federal Savings Bank. With this federal thrift charter, Liberty gained more flexibility in the products and services it was able to offer. In 1985, Liberty Capital, Inc. was established to serve as the holding company for the savings bank.

When Liberty Savings Bank came under the direction of James R. Powell in 1984, it had three small branches in Highland and Clinton Counties, in rural southwestern Ohio. Under his leadership, Liberty expanded into three additional states with over 40 Financial Centers serving communities in Colorado, Florida, Ohio and South Carolina.

In September 2011, Liberty Savings Bank sold all of its Financial Centers in the Ohio region. In April 2012, the Bank sold all of its Financial Centers in the South Carolina region. Both sales have provided Liberty with a strong capitalized position and have allowed the company to focus its synergy in serving its clients in the Colorado and Florida markets. Liberty retains back-office operations in downtown Dayton and Wilmington to support its remaining Financial Centers.

Affiliates
The Liberty organization continues to be structured with Liberty Capital, Inc. as the holding company. At this time, the bank has no subsidiaries. Three previous subsidiaries, Liberty Lending Services, Inc.; LPI
Properties, Inc.; and Liberty Investment Services, Inc. have been merged into Liberty Savings Bank and now operate as departments of the bank. Liberty Lending Services, the organization’s mortgage banking entity, and LPI Properties, the property management subsidiary, were merged effective April 1, 2003. The investment services subsidiary, LIS, was merged effective January 1, 2005. Liberty Investment Services has been registered as a trade name and continues to be used as a marketing device for the investment services function.

US Bank used to be a fairly normal bank but they’ve gone completely off the rails. They will routinely cut off your access to your own money without notifying you about why. They will hang up on you when you try to find out why your card is being declined. Then they’ll tell you that their automated fraud prevention system does not give them information about why it made a decision to turn off your card. So if all of that sounds like how you want to spend your time then US Bank is the bank for you. Personally I’m swapping to a competent bank but wanted to let everyone know if you enjoy misery and being cut off from your money and representatives with enormous attitude then USBank would love to have your money so they can prevent you from getting access to it.
US Bank has became as much if a joke of a bank as Wells Fargo. Their banker and tellers are untrained, Clueless, and should not be dealing with anyone's finances. Their managers are unprofessional, lazy, and don't know how to manage. Very disappointed in US Bank. And I will no longer trust them with my funds, or credit.
Arman took excellent care of me, got my questions answered, and was extremely professional. I appreciate you!
WORST US bank branch ever. Manager has no courtesy, blames the customer for not doing their part when clearly there is no one to blame upon, no follow up, had to call 4 times and wait on hold for 20 mins before I was told by the manager, "The lines are out the door, I am the only manager available, you need to schedule an appointment for tomorrow or come in today" If we had time to come in we would have not called. Absolutely the worst service I had from US Bank after being with them for about 10 yrs. I do not recommend this branch at all. Manager just showed no courtesy, gratitude or any devotion to really help me at all.
This is by far the worst banking experience I've ever had. I work for a company that makes bank deposits daily, and despite the COVID-19 pandemic, this is the only store I work at, that banks at this banking location. Despite that all of the other banks I go to have at least some lobby activity this one has none. They have a commercial window plus two drive up windows. But they only have the one commercial window and one of the drive up windows available at any time. Despite the type of transaction every single transaction averages approximately 10-15 minutes. so if there are 4 cars in either line, expect to be there at least an hour. 6 cars? An hour and a half. Also, because of the amount of time it takes per transaction, there is NEVER a slow time, they are ALWAYS busy. There are usually 6+ employees in the building -- DESPITE no customer allowed in the building -- but they can only help two customers at a time at the drive up. They had a third drive up window previously, but it's been closed for about a month.
Old lady teller is mean, lacks professionalism and confidentiality. She was upset with me because I refused to give my account information to her while a customer was still at her window putting his $ in his wallet. Her exact words were "oh, he's trustworthy, don't worry about him." I told her "my account is confidential and I will discuss it when he's completely gone and furthermore, you should have called me to your window when he was done doing what he had to do. " She needs to go!
I have banked with US bank for 10 yrs. I recently applied for an auto loan. I have great credit. I received a call from Victoria at this branch today and she said my loan app was declined because I don't have any credit products with US Bank. She then offered me a credit card. I don't need a credit card. I need a car loan. I will be closing my accounts with US Bank. What kind of customer service is this?
Came to this branch on a Saturday, BIG MISTAKE. Long line at the drive up, wasn't a commercial transaction so waited for the auto bank line. Please have more than 1 teller working on a busy day or I will have to travel even further to a different location. The only reason I came to this place is because its the closest to my house with a drive up window
I had endless issues with US Bank corporate and finally talked to my branch manager Darlene and she was SOOO helpful and kind. She took time to listen to my issue and helped fix it. She is so kind, I would definitely recommend working with her and this branch.
The worst experience ever!!!! We wanted to open a new account. They make us wait 30 minutes just to tell us that there are no bankers who can open account for us. 0 customer service. Rude representatives.
