In two words, Lifeline is about “lasting change.” Through our programs, we equip children and families to make the changes necessary to succeed in life.
Lifeline serves thousands of people each year and many are considered among the most vulnerable in our communities: children who have been impacted by or who are at risk for abuse, neglect, or delinquency. While in most cases we work with children and families in their own home, sometimes a child may need a place to stay—either for their own protection or so that they can have the concentrated attention they need to address the issues facing them. In these cases, Lifeline offers residential group homes and independent living services to prepare them to reunite with their family or to gain successful independence from the social welfare system.
Our Home-Based Services program is an option for families to get help before things reach a critical point. This program can also help transition kids back into their family following a group home placement. Either way, we’re working with families right in their own homes, bringing them the counseling and tools necessary to strengthen their family.
“Changing hearts and bringing hope to a generation at risk.” This speaks to our commitment to equip youth and their families with the tools and skills to make responsible choices (changing hearts) for a healthy, self-sufficient future (bringing hope).
