The Lil' Street staff run a welcoming and efficient studio, great for anyone looking to learn a new creative skill at their own learning pace. I love the ability to work during open studio hours outside of class, and the genuine care each of their teachers put into helping you achieve your design goals. They run a great scholarship program, but I find their class prices are exceptionally comparable for the amount of resources you receive in equipment, studio availability, and teaching time. 10/10 recommend to anyone trying to carve out a creative practice for themselves, whether returning to an old skill or exploring something new. They've got it all!
A great place for art buyers, art creators and those who appreciate art. Sign up for classes in various mediums of art. Stay for lunch in the Cafe then shop for original and unique pieces for you or as a gift. This place has a great feeling of community and lends a great service to the neighborhood it is located in. Give them a call and get information about the workshops, classes and volunteer opportunities. Whether you are a seasoned Artist or a complete novice, Lillstreet Art Center is a nice place to visit.
Been going here a few years now, it's a great environment for learning and growing and a strong member of the community!
DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE! My son was neglected at this camp. We picked him up early one day and got surprised to find him all alone in a table with his head down. When asked what was going we were told by the teacher that our child didn’t seem interested in the program and that they have many other kids in the class that actually do have interest in the activities . They never called us to tell us this instead they neglected him and alienated him from other kids. Please do not send your children here
I went to this art studio during Ravenswood art walk and made a really cool ring! I think Wendy was the name of the woman who helped us, she was great! I really want to take a class here and create something awesome! It was a great introduction to such a beautiful place.
Just recently took a 4 week first time potter class. Grace, our instructor was fantastic! They had us making pottery on the wheel our first class. Lillstreet has many different art classes and workshops in different medias. A great way to explore new talents and hobbies. Some of their kidtown workshops look fun too if you have littles that need to express their creativity.
I love this place- the teachers are so great and their facilities are awesome
The depth of the arts in Chicago is in part due to the amazing Lillstreet These are just a few images of work shown in the gallery
I love this place! I’ve taken two art classes there: T-shirt Exchange screen printing and advanced screen printing. I learned a lot in both classes and walked away with some cool artwork. The staff there is excellent. They have a ton of experience and are always willing to help you out. I look forward to taking more classes there soon.
Went inside to look around. We walked in and said hi, no one said hello back. When we asked for help about how to sign up we were looked at like we were crazy. Just an off putting experience. I think it goes a long way to just be friendly and it doesn’t take much!
