Limerick Riding School is an English lesson barn in Plainville MA, owned and operated by Sarah Muntyan, ARIA and MA licensed riding instructor.
Limerick Riding School is a family-friendly business that encourages horse lovers of all ages and ability levels to come and grow their skills and share their enthusiasm for our equine friends. Lessons are offered for both children and adults, and "hands on pony rides" are available for very young children who are eager to get in the saddle! Moms who wish to ride and struggle with finding child care can bring little ones with them - child care is available at the barn! There is an indoor children's play area with all sorts of arts & crafts and activities, and complete with ultra-friendly bunny rabbit Hopscotch for young ones to play with and enjoy. Children's riding lessons focus on excellent horsemanship and general balance seat and fundamental equitation; as skills grow and develop we explore the basics of both dressage and jumping. Adult lessons are primarily focused in dressage; some jumping lessons are available - but our wonderful school horses are asked only to do limited jumping to preserve soundness. Adult beginners are welcome! We have very kind and safe horses to learn on. The atmosphere at Limerick Riding School is purposefully positive, inclusive, and relaxed - competition opportunities are available for any student who wishes to compete but absolutely not required. Trainer Sarah Muntyan is ARIA and MA Licensed and a competitive rider in both Eventing and Dressage. She is passionate about teaching and learning, and about finding the best parts of every horse and every rider to celebrate. Her personal horse and current competition partner "Rhapsody In Blue", is a product of the Premarin Industry who had been severely mishandled (generally NOT handled) and had to be rescued on more than one occasion from the meat market. He was given to Sarah at age 7 by a big-time Premarin Foal Rescuer and Advocate, Barbara Graham, who hoped Sarah may be able to help this troubled little horse - and over time, they have formed a unique bond and have managed to achieve some fantastic accomplishments despite unlikely odds and a difficult start. "Francis" as he is called at home sits right out front at Limerick Riding School and will surely welcome everyone in as they come to the barn! There are still lesson spots available for this fall.
