Recreational fishing fun is what you’ll experience at Lincoln Fishery (formerly Big M Fishery). This 20-acre catch and release fishing and recreation site is located at 280 Westland Road, approximately 5 miles west of the Lincoln Airport, just off Nicholas Road. There are 5 fishing ponds which range in size from 1/2 an acre to 5 acres. The ponds are stocked with catfish, trout, blue gill, and bass. There are several picnic areas, and patrons are allowed to bring food and picnic supplies with them to make the day complete. A barbecue is also available for patrons to use.
Founding Owner and Operator, Joe Parr, mingles with the guests to ensure everyone is satisfied with their experience. Since Lincoln Fishery opened, rave reviews have been coming in, including: "Had a blast today,” "Great, friendly staff and plenty of fish,” "I thoroughly enjoyed my time out there a few weekends ago,” and "Can't wait to come back!"
The cost is only $15 to fish all day plus an additional $5 for each non-fishing patron. Patrons can bring their own fishing pole or rent one onsite for only $3. Bait is also available for $3. Lincoln Fishery is licensed by the California Department of Fish and Game, which means patrons are not required to obtain one.
The site is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for individuals and groups up to 4 people. Reservations are required in advance for groups of 5 or more, but can be made for any day of the week.
Until 1991, the 20-acre site that now houses Lincoln Fishery was a rice farm. Since Joe Parr fulfilled his dream and opened the fresh well-water ponds, he’s never looked back. On any given weekend, patrons can be found enjoying their fishing experience onsite, while Parr is busy ensuring everyone is having a memorable experience.
