The racial makeup of the CDP was 93.37% White, 3.34% African American, 0.30% Native American, 1.50% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.30% from other races, and 1.16% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.57% of the population.There were 1,064 households of which 24.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 43.7% were married couples living together, 10.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 41.8% were non-families. 36.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 21.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.18 and the average family size was 2.86.
