These fake pigeon-deterring owls are crazy. Do they have guns pointing out the bottom of them? I didn't stick around to find out and waited at the other end of the deserted platform. It's a low-key nice station from maybe the 1970s or 80s, very large and with an unusual round exterior, as well as lots of bike parking and benches outside. I would come back by choice, even with the creepy owls and maybe even because of them.
Perfect place to park your car and head into Chicago on the "L". I was intimidated to ride the "L" of decades. I finally decided to do it no matter what! I knew a ton going into the experience, but the ease of the experience my first time was so great! The CTA agent on the phone was top notch, and the CTA agent at the Linden station was so amazing! I will go here every time I go to Chicago!
This is a very clean and quiet station on the CTA Purple Line. It's largely enclosed, so you could clearly hear an ink pen drop on the platform. If you look up, you will see some creepy owl-like figurines. They're there to scare away pigeons and other birds but, they'll scare people away people as well! When I first saw them back in early 2011, I literally almost peed on myself LOL!
This is CTA’s northernmost station at the Linden Purple Line in Wilmette IL. You can take the Purple Line to Chicago without taking Metra!
Great station but could use some remodeling. Looking forward to it as well. The purple line stations are always better than decent, I like to see Linden achieve the same qualities
Pretty much one of the worst set ups I've ever seen. You have to pay for parking which is understandable. But in order to pay for parking you have to walk all the way into the train station, pay. Then walk back out with your little pay token and put it in a rusty metal box. The two are no where near each other. Allow at least 10-15 minutes for this process. Like other lines, this station never gives exact arrivals/departures on their video board. Trains are always pulling away when you think you still have 2 minutes to get thru the turn-style and board. Overall a very bad set up and poorly ran by both the city of Willamette and the CTA.
This was so awesome today im gonna ride the L!
Not too busy and also keep to schedule time of arrival
Meh. Pretty ordinary station
