"Established in 1945 as a fishing camp, the Lodge has evolved into a great place to dine over looking the Braden River. We have 2 outdoor screened decks seating 100 guest. Air-conditioned inside seating 60 guest. Daily Specials. Happy Hour Wed - Friday 4 to 7. Karaoke every Friday Night 6 to 9 p.m. Live Music All day Sundays. Such a unique place with amazing food that you can’t just get anywhere. My lunch brought back memories from my childhood of my dad gigging and frying frog legs up for us. I had frog legs, gator bites and fried green tomatoes, which were delicious. My hubby had the River Reuben which was also very good. My granddaughter had a kids meal with lots of popcorn shrimp, fries, drink and dessert for $11 which I found to be very reasonable. I highly recommend the Linger Lodge! It’s well worth the drive!! Kid-friendliness: It was very kid friendly as far as atmosphere.
Oh Boy! I can't say enough about this place. Such a unique restaurant with a great history of old Florida. Bring your appetite and your camera. The place is decorated with all types of Taxidermy. Many with good stories behind them. You'll love the roadkill menu! Food: 5/5
Very unique and fun dining experience. Off the beaten path, but well worth it. We had the shrimp etoufe, alligator chowder, blackened catfish, and Cajun chicken canobs. Delicious. After dinner, we walked down by the river and was greeted by an alligator.Food: 5/5
Long history with the Lodge. My parents went here and we've followed. Food is always good, beer is cold, people are friendly, atmosphere is the kind of local, privately-owned that I love. They've just renovated and major upgraded the camping facility.
I am sure you go here for the ambiance. The food, just ok. I had so send the gator cream soup back...too spicy & greasy. Then I tried the gator bites. So grisly I could not eat. Must have been a 100 year old gator. Waiter super nice. That's my experience!Food: 1/5
We finally went to a local quintessential Florida restaurant, Linger Lodge. It has been around since the 40's. They have some unique southern cuisine mixed with traditional American cuisine. Our appetizers were blackened gator and frog legs, fried green tomatoes and hush puppies. I had fried catfish. The frog legs and catfish were some of the best that I have had. Out of the 5 of us, no one said anything bad about anything they ate!
It's been a few years since I've been here and WOW all the updates are great! Gated RV park and everything is paved parking lot, drive, sites. The restaurant is nice and the wait staff is too!Food: 5/5
2 weeks late post Before Ian hurricane Kids definitely loved the atmosphere with all the preserved animals around. Kids also loved their kids menu. I ventured to try the alligator burger and it was a little harder meat compared to the beef burger. My wife loved the alligator chowder though. Pastas were great. The service was very good. A great place to eat especially if you want the feel of a cabin- out in the woods type of ambiance for lunch or dinner.
Food was amazing, one of the best burgers I've ever had. Definitely make a reservation if you want to sit outside. Service was ok...but food was so good, that I still gave it 5 stars. Highly recommend the Linger Burger!Food: 5/5
I have really good memories of several dining experiences here. This is the kind of place where you could take your out of town guests to, and they'll remember the details of it because of the uniqueness of it all. I tried alligator twice here before I went vegetarian, in a soup and as a burger. It's worth trying it in different ways. Friends got some plump frog legs that were good according to them. Linger a while to take a look at everything on the walls.
