Welcome to Lions Eye Bank of West Central Ohio. We are a non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to relieving human suffering through the recovery and provision of ocular tissue for sight-restoring transplant surgeries, medical research, and education.
Since 1982, the Lions Eye Bank of West Central Ohio has served the city of Dayton and nine surrounding counties, providing the gift of sight to patients in our community and around the world.
30 Years of Excellence in the local communities, as well as, out-of–state and internationally.
WHAT WE DO
- Work with staff at hospitals, home health agencies, and funeral homes to make sure all families are offered the option of eye donation.
- Promote donation in the community. If you are interested in having us give a presentation at your next event or meeting, contact us.
-Obtain consent for donation and recover eye tissue.
-Perform tests and examine medical records to determine if corneas are suitable for transplant.
-Process and provide corneas for transplant to surgeons in Ohio and throughout the US. If all local needs are met, corneas are offered to surgeons in other areas of the country and around the world.
