My goodness how I love this place so far! The staff make us feel so good about having our young toddler attending here for daycare, and they have such professional and amazing daycare nannies. We've only been attending for a couple weeks but I'll write a review as time goes on. Such a great find :
This daycare really puts the child first. As a play based learning environment, the children are able to grow socially while still preparing for elementary school. The “baby house” is the perfect place to leave your newborn while you go back to work. I never worried about the care my baby was getting there. The caregivers care so much for the babies that they start to feel like family while still being professional. The main building is very large and has classrooms broken up by age with 2 different outdoor play areas. The separate play areas are nice so that your child is able to play on age appropriate equipment. The facility is also a gymnastic and dance school which is helpful to have them attend those type of classes during the day- less running around at night or on the weekends! Also offered is ninja zone and soccer shots. My concerns are always listened to and my suggestions valued. I recommend this daycare to anyone looking for a place to care of their children.
My son has been in the Ninja class since it started about 3 years ago. Even though it takes us about 40 minutes to get there, we are willing to take him because he loves it. It is perfect for him. I particularly like the different things they do with the typical "gymnastic" mats and equipment. These kids are running straight up mats that are against the walls and flipping over, climbing ropes, learning flips and jumps on the trampolines, obstacle courses that work about every muscle he has in all different ways. It is non stop almost the whole time. His instructor, Mary Beth is wonderful. She has been leading his class since the onset. Every interaction that I have had with her as well as any of the girls helping has always been pleasant and professional. I recommend this class regularly when talking about it. I will continue to take my son as long as he continues to be interested in it. Highly recommended for boys with tons of energy. :
Our daughter when to creative movement and gymnastics at Carol Leone’s. She was 3 at the time we signed her up. Ms. Casey her instructor was amazing. But she was the only good thing about this place. The dance director Jen basically used our children to make more money showing no consideration to the parents. The costumes for their 2 minute dance cost nearly $100. When you would email her with questions she wouldn’t answer. She didn’t allow parent’s to reserve seats for themselves while they were helping their preschoolers get ready for the show. They just treat you as a way to make money.
My wife and I have two boys at Carol Leone, and it has been a wonderful experience. The staff is very positive and has shown genuine interest in our boys’ care and development. Pat Irwin is an angel and has given us tremendous confidence in this facility. This is a great daycare and has been a blessing for our family!
We chose Carol Leone’s daycare for our son when he was 10 weeks old. Unlike other centers we looked at, the baby house felt more like a home environment than a school or institution. It was clean and during pop-ins we would see them disinfecting the shared toys - we liked that. Also no shoes were permitted on the carpet where the babies crawled. As he grew, they included breakfast and a hot lunch - also setting them apart from others we toured. As we began introducing foods, Carol Leone’s helped by allowing us to select items from their menu for him to try. They have a tenured staff throughout their facility in additon to some turnover from those looking to advance in other areas. Liam is very fond of all his staff from babyhouse through caterpillars 4year old room. Carol Leone’s allows the little ones to play and learn as they are meant to at this age. They help the kids to explore their environment and learn in preparation for school. I especially like their gym area as it provides enough space for active play during the cold winter months. As with any daycare, there are incidents where toddlers are learning how to interact woth each other and my son has had his share of flu, colds, viruses, bites or bumps. This is expected in daycare and doctors have assured us that his immunity will be stronger during his school years. There could be improvement with more in depth summaries of experiences throughout each day; however, the staff is always good speaking with us to follow up on his day and answer any questions. We also appreciate the bi-yearly parent teacher conferences. Our son has made formidable friendships which we can only hope remain far beyond daycare years. The childcare director and assistant director at Carol Leone’s are amazing and genuinely dedicated with a passion for the kids.
After viewing many in the area, this was the one. We waited until the age of two and therefore did not experience the baby house or one year old room. Its been two years since we enrolled and I have not had any notably bad experiences. All good things to say about the center and the staff. Taking my baby to daycare was not easy for me. Carol Leones made it the best possible experience. Love you guys for that!
I loved the "homey" feel of the daycare. It seemed a little more like home than an institution. The meals were definitely kid friendly & there was always an alternative option available. Two downfalls. First, the center closes far more often than the traditional daycare, including a full week in December. Second, staff turn over seemed pretty high. That was a hard adjustment at times for my 2 year old.
This daycare is overcrowded and unsanitary. There is no solid structure as the staff is underpaid and overworked. The child to staff ratio is ridiculous so lots of “accidents” and “incidents” occur. Also there are many unexplained surcharges and no comprehensive person in billing. This place is more like a money mill then a daycare facility. I recommend smaller daycares with less children. I frequently watched the staff yell at my child like she was an adult. She also contracted bacterial rash called molloscum from this daycare. It’s an irritating skin rash that’s is formed in overcrowded daycares with Less then ideal cleaning conditions. The folks that run this place care more about taking your money then anything else. Hence a high employee turn over rate. Your child’s safety and well being should come first. That being said my child no longer attends here. At “just like home” she learns things for pre k and here is a much more reliable institution that doesn’t close down for ridiculous things like Columbus Day. Carol Leone’s was a horrible experience for my daughter.
our daughter has been going to carol leones for dance and gymnastics for two years...cuz thats how often they have recitals, every two years. ridiculous. how are we supposed to see how what our daughter has learned? also, theres only a few observation days like, 2-3 during the year to view what they learn and know; no observation allowed otherwise. during the recital, there is no announcement or introduction or anything at the beginning, before the acts, or at the end of the show. just lights on and off. they mandate every family buy a minimum of 5 tickets at $10/each for the recital. what bs is that? god forbid the parent is single or just starting off, that would render the parents +/-$40 after already spending $$$ on everything else! not to mention that there was literally NO parking an hour before the recital probably due to the mandated ticket purchases. our daughter was only in one performance which we were told nothing of the choreography, theme, or music until the dress rehearsal two days prior, that lasted hardly two minutes. the costume, i will say, was gorgeous. but theres a catch, it was used in two other performances, with different kids...AND at the evening recital which our child was not in for some unbeknownst reason. that did NOT happen during any other performance. all the costumes were very different except for ours and the two other performances. if we spent almost $100 on a costume, we expect it to be unique and only in our performance. im sure im not the only parent ticked of by that. besides the recital and everything to do with it being a gigantic letdown and the fact that we cant observe anything shes taught....the women that run the place are rude and talk to you like you're an idiot "youngin". the billing system is the most bass-ackwards system ive ever encountered; they even admitted to it being ridiculous and outdated when ive called to figure out exactly what we owed on tuition and the costume. its literally the most confusing piece of paper ive ever encountered. we will not be returning to carol leones next year, we only stayed for two years so that she would be in the recital. they sent a notice saying that the owners are stepping down and new management will be taking over...THANK GOODNESS!!! but that still will not interest us in coming back. we used to take her to arenas dance; the only reason we left is that we didnt feel they offered enough gymnastics or competition. we shouldve stayed because carol leones is TERRIBLE!
