These people are great at what they do. Super friendly and helpful. I saw two comments that place this great Company and experience in a bad light and feel compelled to comment. If your in a canoe and don’t have a lot of experience, a possibility exists that you could flip it. Make sure you have on the life vest that liquid therapy provides. I haven’t seen any lifeguards on duty at the river before. So I don’t expect the company to have a rescue team on standby. I also feel that a $15 late fee is justified. That equipment was not available while it was on hold for you. They may be turning people away or not be able to get a second rental out of it for the day. It also discourages people from renting and not showing up. Bottom line good people and company. Beautiful River with great fishing.
I just went for Canoeing two days back. The management is one of the worsts I've ever seen. Right after we set on our journey off the shore there was a bridge, and the current was too high before we gain our control on the canoe. To be honest, it was my first experience in canoeing and unfortunately it went bad just because of the management of this company. Losing the control of our canoe in a few minutes of starting it was hit from below by a hidden branch of tree under the water, and it just flipped over. And with us there were two other canoes carrying my friends flipped over too. The dangerous thing is two of us didn't know swimming and one of them fell into the river. When we called for help from the company, no one came to help us. They don't even have a rescue team. And the current was too high for us to do it all by ourselves. Luckily we were able get everyone out of that mishap. But that's totally on us, not on the company. The worst thing is when we called them in the middle of this quandary, all they were worried for was there canoe. They didn't even ask for our condition who were in real danger. They just said they need 100 bucks for each lost canoe. Now, you be the judge. Should we recommend this company to someone else who wants just some fun by pushing him into the danger? P.S.: I also lost my new phone and sunglasses there.
I was charged an extra $15 for "being late" it was never made clear that there would be an extra fee for being late and we were even offered a longer trip initially so the extra fee didn't make sense to me. I won't be going back. The hidden fees and attitudes are not welcome.
The owners of Liquid Therapy were great and very easy to work with! Very friendly and did a great job explaining the river and things to look out for! We kayaking the Rocky River and had a great time! I would 110% come back and try the other 3 rivers that they drop off at! Thank you!
My partner, sister, her friend, and I set out to do what we thought would be a semi-easy, at least, maneuverable course. My partner and I did a canoe together, the two others did kayaks. Two employees drove us out to the beginning, saying it would take 3 hours, and stopped briefly at a part by the river, telling us about a dam to go around and a yellow sign with an arrow. We were excited at first, and the start was fun, but then it kept getting more difficult. The water was shallow and almost impassable in some areas; branches and tree trunks/logs everywhere; I feel that this was a pro river course/path. There was no signage getting around the dam, but we figured it out. I just am very concerned about safety and signage, as well as them saying they are family-friendly, when the trip we did was very dangerous. There were several instances where we had to get out and push the boats, hurting our feet and other appendages. I just wanted to share my experience and clarify what you should actually expect going into this. It was a journey and quite an ordeal. My sister was crying when we finished.
Although the staff was very friendly, I was appalled to see that they are not taking any precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. My girlfriend and I went to kayak there on July 5th, and had a very uncomfortable experience when they picked us up because we were wearing masks, but nobody else was. The owners/employees were not wearing any masks and did not encourage the other patrons to do the same. When we were picked up at the end of our kayak trip, we were expected to ride in a 12 passenger van with 6 other individuals 2 employees, 4 other patrons. We asked if there was any way that they could come back for us so that we didn't have to ride in a packed van, but the van driver said that he would have to pick up other people ending their trips first, before picking us up. It was over 90 degrees outside, so we ultimately decided to ride in the van, despite the lack of social distancing. Due to the lack of other COVID-19 precautions being taken, we are unsure of whether or not the canoes/kayaks were sufficiently cleaned after each trip. Although the virus does not react well with water and the chances of contracting it from a surface are slim, I feel that it is still important to sanitize each boat after each trip to ensure that nobody is infected. I feel that there are plausible ways to maintain social distance and take precautions against the airborne spread of COVID-19, while still running a successful canoe/kayak rental business. It may cause some inconveniences on the part of the company, but could be a case of life or death for a patron. I understand that we did not ask about their precautions before going, and that is on us. However, I do not feel that it is completely out of the question for us to expect that some precautions are taken, given the current state of the virus in Michigan. I have not seen any other reviews regarding this issue, and feel that it is important for the public to be aware of their lack of COVID-19 precautions before making the decision to go or not.
Had a great time! Spent about 4hrs with friends and family. Easy start and finish. Beautiful and relaxing views of the river. Would do again !!
Owners are very nice and helpful, we did the rocky river. Beginners here and still the river was easily navigatable, had a blast and would do again.
We showed up 12 minutes after 2pm on a Saturday and they wouldn't rent us kayaks because they dont rent out kayaks after 2pm. That's their policy, I get it, but c'mon. We drove an hour and half to get here, and it's not like they had to drive us anywhere. You put your boat in right there at the livery. We were super disappointed.
Liquid Therapy gave us an excellent recommendation for a lovely Fall paddle down the Prairie River, as well as a helpful and informative shuttle service. Although we used our own equipment, Liquid Therapy has a full selection of canoes and kayaks for rent at their base in Three Rivers, MI. Nice people.
