Clean, well lit, has nearby stores and taxis near waiting room.
The signs, the announcements and every one of the conductors was extremely informative and helpful. Well, Google maps had already told me everything I needed to know, what time I would get to the station and win the transfer and what track... But still, it was nice hearing the announcements and reading the signs and hearing the conductors tell me that everything that Google maps had already told me was accurate. And on a side note the stations and the platforms were clean and orderly, which helped all of us run around and enjoy our Halloween.
Overall a good station, got rid of outlets in waiting room to charge phones, and for some reason they removed the outside benches probably something to do with the homeless people. Trains are usually on time and there’s a nice convenient store very close by that you can go into before transferring your next train. Only complaint would probably be the loud and pushy taxi drivers shouting in your face at night, and that right now the patchogue transfer train has been changed to buses until oct 4 on weekdays. Bathrooms are a hit or miss.
Huge busy open 24/7 365 days buses trains cabs very nice and modern.
Nice train station. Frequented by the local friendly drug addicts and homless people. The pushy taxi drivers are also delightful. Service is good although the trains always seem to be a bit late LIRR problem, not the station itself Parking is terrible but at least it is affordable. $0.25 an hour. I can't comment on the restrooms as I have not used them out of fear of being stabbed by the aforementioned friendly hobos. Overall the station looks dirty and run down. Could use a facelift.
So beautiful place
Babylon is one of the nicest, quaintly places on Long Island. I'm Born and raised here! We've managed to keep the place cozy and really clean and we're going to keep it that way! Especially during Christmas season after a fresh snowfall, Babylon Village looks like something out of a Norman Rockwell painting! The Village has a few historical sights. It's simply beautiful!
I was ecstatic to view the high school from view from the station. Seems that High school kids can gain access to NYC/West Long Island areas like right after school if they please, for its across the street from the towns high school+ Babylon station seems to be the last stop of the single car/Multiple Unit based trains only, while to the 2X deck ones can proceed much further east. The waiting room could get alittle updated at somepoint.
Waiting Room is pretty much always open, weekdays & WEEKENDS & that means so are the bathrooms WELL UNTIL 8PM, but still thats pretty damn good if ya gotta use it
As a resident vigilate and superhero, customers can now feel safe because if you're in Babylon and the local homeless try to be too friendly/ harassing train riders for their money, don't worry because a very famous costumed superhero will serve and protect all passengers! Even the MTA police stay on their best behavior when this "MAN OF STEEL" appears! Those who gain the fortune to run into this superhero can even take his picture just to go home or to their destination to brsg and show off to their friends and co-workers or their family members when yhey get home! Otherwise, how are you going to prove that you're not imagining things when you tell your family who saved your life from over-aggressive homeless panhandlers who try to do harm people who don't take a hint fast and allow passengers to get to their trains unless they give their money to them!
